1 Peter 1:5 Pastor Ralph Ovadal 68 minutes Our inheritance of eternal life is secured and kept secure for us, the heirs of eternal life, by the power of God. If the promise of salvation is a lively hope, a sure certainty, because of the power of God, then the security of the true believer is just as certain because it too is by the power of God. Verse four speaks of the inheritance kept for the believer. Verse five speaks of the believer kept for the inheritance. Our salvation cannot be a lively hope reserved for us by the power of God if we are not kept by the power of God to receive it. The believer's promise of salvation cannot rest on a rock if the believer's security rests on the shifting sand of human effort.

The gospel defenders of the past, some of whom sealed their testimony with their blood, are not here. We are here, and we have been put in trust with the gospel. We must defend the gospel.
PCC Camp Meeting 2006 Deuteronomy 31:30-32:31; Acts 20:22-32 Pastor Ralph Ovadal 70 minutes Speaking as one who has for many years been deeply engaged in the fight against unborn child killing, against New Sodom, and against other deadly evils, I must tell you this morning that the enemies we contend with who are without the church will eventually overwhelm us and we will go into a Babylonian captivity. Why do I say that? Because while many evangelicals are now willing to contribute at least something to the fight against such evils as the sodomite agenda and unborn child killing, only a tiny minority of us are willing to fight against the greatest enemy outside Christ's church which ever reared up against God. Even a smaller fraction of us are willing to fight against those within the body of Christ who are aiding and encouraging that enemy. That enemy without the church is popery and the enemies within are first, the open ecumenists and second, those cowards who refuse to hold them accountable to the Word of God.
