1 Corinthians 2:2 Pastor Ralph Ovadal 68 minutes Do not misunderstand what Paul was saying. He did not mean he preached Jesus Christ and Him crucified because of those people and their influence. He determined to preach Jesus Christ in spite of those people and their influence, their mocking and their resistance. Paul preached what he preached everywhere: Jesus Christ and Him crucified. Paul preached what we must preach today—and not just to the unconverted. Jesus Christ and Him crucified must also be preached to the redeemed of God. Jesus Christ and Him crucified ought to be often in our thoughts and have a profound and constant impact on our lives.

1 Samuel 13:13-14 Pastor Ralph Ovadal 65 minutes It is a great blessing to be a man after God's own heart, and we should each strive to be such a man. This means so much more than being a good, moral man. Today, I want to warn those Christians who think it somehow pleases God that they live a moral life but will not take up God's cause. That is not living as a man after God's own heart. I pity the Christian who lives as a sweet moralist with no burning zeal for the honor and glory of God.
Pastor Ralph Ovadal 59 minutes "For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly." Jesus Christ died for the unwashed, unjustified, unsanctified, ungodly. How can the ungodly become godly by good deeds? The ungodly are condemned by what they have done and by what they have not done. The ungodly are condemned by what they are and by what they are not and because their very nature is at enmity with God. But if sinners are justified by faith alone, in Christ alone, apart from works of the law, does this make Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

Philippians 2:5 Pastor Ralph Ovadal 47 minutes That's the mind that was in Christ Jesus. That bears thinking about. And he says, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." Is that mind in you? Is that mind in me? Are we even close to having that mind in us? Will we meditate on this? Will we think about what it means? Will it change our actions and our thoughts, our commitments and desires? Will it change how we spend our time? Will it raise up a generation of reformers?
