To listen to sodomite propagandists, one would think that a
wave of deadly violence against homosexuals sweeps across the nation every
time a minister of the gospel publicly proclaims what the Bible actually
does say about sodomy and other perverted sexual acts--ditto every time a
politician expresses the slightest concern about using the institutions of
civil government, the educational system, and the taxpayers' money to
support and advance Sodom's agenda. Of course, we all know that Matthew
Shepherd was brutally murdered because of that sort of thing, right?
Matthew's tragic death was totally unrelated to the fact that he picked up
two strangers in a bar for anonymous sex. Shucks, anyone should be able to
do that without worrying about putting his life and limb in
danger--anyone, even those guys who dress up as ladies and pick up
whoremongering men looking for a good time who then react badly when they
realize that while the lady was a tramp, the tramp was not a lady! By the
way, I wonder when we will see a play memorializing the genuinely female
prostitutes who are murdered after picking up the wrong guys? But I
digress. Let's have no mumbling similes here that might lead people to
draw logical conclusions.
We were talking about how the sodomites scream bloody murder every
time their opponents voice a principled opinion. We are told that our
words provoke violence, breed terror, and birth death for "gay and
lesbian" people. Consider, for instance, all of that "gay on
gay" violence which is reported as hate crimes. No doubt, that too
can be laid at the door of those callous individuals who continue to
stubbornly and ignorantly insist that homosexual acts are dangerous, often
deadly, sins which God condemns even as He graciously offers forgiveness
and salvation to those homosexuals who will repent and believe the gospel.
So it's our fault; it's all our fault. Suicide; AIDS; drug use; premature
death; and certainly, especially, violence against homosexuals is our
fault. When will we cease this reckless preaching of law and grace,
objective truth and love without dissimulation?
Now, just to go widely off the issue for a few lines, some of us
Christians have been physically attacked by homosexuals. Duh, I almost
forgot--that too is our fault. We are told, as I have been told many
times, that if we would not speak against the sin and agenda of Sodom, we
would not be attacked. So again, our own words are to blame. Here is a
curious thing: those who simply speak the truth about homosexuality are
said to maim and kill. We equip foaming-at-the-mouth lunatics to go on
rampages against homosexuals. Thus we are to be silent--silent, that is,
about homosexual acts. We can talk about child abusers or rapists or
drunkards or drug dealers in the strongest of terms. That's different. If
someone attacks one of those characters, we can simply point out that two
wrongs do not make a right. It is different than if we talk against
homosexuals and someone uses that as an excuse to attack one of them.
Let's try to keep all of this straight. It's probably good I'm writing it
all down.
Another thing, Sodom's sons and daughters can say anything they
want about Christians. That's also different. As an oppressed people class
who have been inflicted with all sorts of health problems out of the blue,
that's their right.
In my home state, we have a homosexual political group called
Action Wisconsin. Homophobes at the state capitol in Madison have secretly
told me that Action Wisconsin is rather proficient at playing the bully.
Recently, Action Wisconsin decided to bully my ministry, some of my
friends, and me. Wisconsin Christians United held an event which we called
the International Conference on Homo-Fascism. The conference featured
speakers from several different countries who spoke of a rising tide of
fascism which is manifesting itself in hate speech laws and increasing
restrictions on religious liberty. Action Wisconsin--brilliant strategists
that they are--ordered off of our web site CDs featuring five hours of
conference speeches. They then excerpted out of context remarks we
speakers made in those speeches. Their goal was to make us look like a
bunch of mad-dog killers, drooling at the thought of murdering
homosexuals.
Action Wisconsin really went for the brass ring with several
remarks from Pastor Grant Storms's sermon on the biblical story of
Jonathan and his armor bearer's fight with the Philistine army. After
performing some fairly extensive surgery on the pastor's remarks and
ignoring the message's context, Action Wisconsin's brain trust issued a
press release in which they wrote that the preacher was talking about and
even acting out the murder of gay people! They also compared our
conference to "a Ku Klux Klan rally or a neo-Nazi conference."
WCU was described as indulging in "extreme hate-group activity";
and it was related to the world that we "espoused . . . frenzied,
hysterical hatred." In a nutshell, so to speak, Action Wisconsin
juxtaposed Wisconsin Christians United alongside those who have hanged
black people and gassed Jews. They lied by saying that we encouraged, and
even reveled in, the murder of "gay people." Just for good
measure, they described us as being consumed by "frenzied, hysterical
hatred."
Now, Pastor Grant Storms and I have both received numerous threats
to our lives and limbs in the past. I have had several homosexuals make
good on the limb-type threats. Action Wisconsin's news release assault on
WCU went on their web site and out to the media on Monday, December 8,
2003. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 9, 2003, WCU held a picket in
Galena, Illinois. We set up a number of signs and banners with biblical
messages, including a sixteen-foot banner reading, "Homosexuality is
sin." As I stood beside that banner holding a sign bearing the
message "Christ can set you free," I was attacked by a young man
wielding a five-foot long, two-inch thick stick. As police watched, he did
succeed in hitting me in the knee hard enough to shatter that solid stick
into three pieces. Ouch! The Galena Police Department decided not to
charge the errant lad with battery. Instead, they gave him a disorderly
conduct charge. I guess, technically speaking, attacking a homophobic
pastor does create a disturbance, although generally battery with a stick
is considered battery. Perhaps my assailant did not want to be charged
with battery. That could be it.
In 1996, I was knocked unconscious by a homosexual while I was
doing ministry work in Madison. In that case, the Dane County D.A. dropped
the initial charge of substantial battery down to an ordinance violation
because, she told me, the perpetrator did not want a criminal record. By
the way, in that incident, my attacker told police that he had a right to
hit me because of the message I was sharing on the public sidewalk in
front of an elementary school in which a display about "gay
families" was being presented. I wonder where he got that idea?
In 1996, four hundred sodomites trespassed and semi-rioted on the
property of a church where I was speaking in Madison. The police did not
order the intruders off of the property because they did not want to
leave. I could relate many other similar examples from WCU history to
prove the point of this story, but it is time to get to that point.
Action Wisconsin released to the press and posted on the Internet a
story in which the speakers at a WCU event, including me, were luridly and
falsely painted as hysterical wanna-be murderers of "gay
people." Thirty-six hours later, I was attacked by an
obscenity-spewing, club-wielding young man who is either a homosexual or,
it would be safe to say, pro-homosexual. Now what if WCU had put out a
press release in which we flat-out and knowingly lied by accusing Action
Wisconsin leaders of literally advocating the cold-blooded murder of
Christians and reveling in the thought of such bloodshed? What if the next
day, Action Wisconsin executive director Chris Ott was assaulted as I was
assaulted? Do you think maybe, just maybe, Action Wisconsin would then
claim that WCU's concocted story had something to do with that assault,
whether or not they could prove it? But of course, that would be
different.
At the risk of sounding stupid to those who are so smart that they
reject God's dictated or natural law and His revealed law as found only in
Holy Scripture, I will bring this little monologue to a close by
summarizing what Action Wisconsin et al want us to learn. It is
very simple. Those who preach the faith of our fathers and stand for the
law of our Father cause violence against those who do violence to His
Word, their own bodies, and the culture in which our children live. On the
other hand, due to their pressing need to marginalize, demonize, and
silence their opponents, this nation's sexual anarchists have every right
to slander, libel, intimidate, and even falsely present as dangerous,
blood-thirsty murderers those who hold to a principled, public stand
against Sodom's agenda. That is the lesson the citizens of Sodom and their
supporters in Sodom's suburbs are busily weaving into America's psyche.
With the help of the mainstream media, spineless politicians, and
quiet-as-death pastors, they seem to be having quite good success. When
sodomites are the victims of violence for any reason, it is our fault; and
when we are the victims of sodomite violence, it is our fault. Is that
what they mean by "different strokes for different folks"? Those
Christians who do not relish quivering Lot-like in a cave somewhere after
having failed both their Lord and their family by remaining silent in the
face of a great evil need to take a truly biblical, public stand against
what can only be termed a rising tide of homo-fascism.
