| Today,
eight teams organized by Wisconsin Christians United will be on the
public sidewalks in front of fifteen public schools in Wisconsin to
hand out WCU brochures on homosexuality which include the gospel. In some
instances, signs with biblical messages will also be used. A team led by
Pastor Ralph Ovadal will visit four different schools over the course of
the day. The last school to be visited by his team, Viroqua High School,
will also be hosting a "Breaking the Silence Rally and Dance."
WCU has provided literature for Christians in other states as well to hand
out at public schools.
Each of the schools being
ministered at today is listed by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education
Network as participating in their Day of Silence propaganda effort.
Homosexual students, and their allies, in the participating schools take a
vow to stay silent for the entire school day to protest supposed bigotry
and violence against homosexual people. A number of schools visited by WCU
on last year's Day of Silence have opted out of the event this year.

Day of Silence to be a wonderful opportunity to share the truth about
homosexuality with students in participating schools. With the spotlight
on that behavior, thanks to GLSEN, non-participating students tend to read
our literature even more than they normally would. If GLSEN really
believes in the merits of their cause, staying silent is a strange way to
advance it. Today we will be anything but silent as we share the biblical
truth about homosexuality and preach the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ,
who came to seek and to save sinners, including homosexuals."
