PILGRIMS COVENANT CHURCH
Spring Preaching Conference

O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years,
in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.

Pilgrims Covenant Church's Spring Preaching Conference is free to all, but a free will offering will be taken up. As with other years, we will have four speakers, book tables, and plenty of time for fellowship, including over lunch. PCC will also provide refreshments during the breaks between speakers. The Trinitarian Bible Society will be offering a 25% conference discount on all of their Bibles, booklets, literature, and other items. Our guest speakers this year include:

Stephen Holland  is the pastor of Westhoughton Evangelical Church, Westhoughton, England. Rev. Holland was born and raised in South Wales. He is a former construction worker who was converted to Christ as a young adult after studying for a short period with the Jehovah's Witnesses. After his conversion, Mr. Holland felt the call to ministry work and went to study in Scotland at the Faith Mission Bible College, remaining with Faith Mission for a time as an itinerant evangelist. He also later completed four further years of part-time study at the London Reformed Baptist Seminary. Pastor Holland is a firm believer in open-air preaching, tract distribution, and "any other means to make the Gospel known to the unsaved."

Alastair Matthews  is a representative and speaker for the Trinitarian Bible Society-USA. He is originally from Dunfermline, once the ancient capital of Scotland. Mr. Matthews is also a chemistry teacher and is currently serving as pastor for a Reformed Presbyterian Church General Assembly mission work in Menasha, Wisconsin. In the past, he has done Christian mission work in London, England. Mr. Matthews and his family moved to the United States in 1994.

William Greendyk  is a former missionary to Bolivia, where he founded a K-12 school. In addition to being a certified teacher, Mr. Greendyk has studied linguistics and has also earned a degree in Spanish grammar in Costa Rica. Upon returning from Bolivia, he worked as a freelance translator of Christian literature into Spanish, until being employed in 2005 by the Trinitarian Bible Society to supervise the revision of the Society's Spanish Bible. He is currently the general secretary of TBS's USA branch, where he is still very involved in the Spanish Bible revision project.

The
Trinitarian Bible Society, including with well-documented and scholarly publications, promotes Bible translations which are accurate and trustworthy, conforming to the Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Greek Textus Receptus of the New Testament, upon which texts the English Authorized Version (aka King James Version) is based. TBS also labors to produce and distribute accurate translations, and revisions, of the Bible in other languages. In 2007, the Trinitarian Bible Society distributed a total of about 7 million Bibles and New Testaments in diverse languages, including Arabic. TBS distributed another 3.5 million Scripture portions or Scripture products (calendars, greeting cards, etc.). TBS translation projects are being carried out (or were completed in 2007) in the following languages, to name just a few: Armenian, Catalan, Farsi (Iran), French (revision project), Maltese, Maori (New Zealand), Ndebele (Zimbabwe), Amharic (Ethiopia), Gio (Liberia), Nepali, Pokot (Kenya), Polish (revision project), Romanian (revision project), Spanish (revision project), Thadou (northeast India), Chinese (revision project), and Ukrainian. The web site address for TBS is www.trinitarianbiblesociety.org.
