Bus Campaign by
Pilgrims Covenant Church Starts This Week

This week, Pilgrims Covenant Church launches a response to a campaign by the Madison, Wisconsin based Freedom From Religion Foundation. FFRF has purchased space on the inside of Madison Metro buses and posted small messages mocking God and those who believe in Him. For instance, one of the quotes is from Clarence Darrow and reads, "I don't believe in God, because I don't believe in Mother Goose." Another quote used is from Richard Dawkins, author of The God Delusion. That quote is as follows: "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction."

PCC has purchased space on the outside of eleven Madison buses. For the next month, our message, as it appears attached to this press release, will cover one side of each of those eleven buses from nearly wheel to wheel and ground to windows (144" x 30"). Over the course of a month, each Madison Metro bus is rotated to a number of different routes in Madison (including the UW Campus), Verona, Fitchburg, and Middleton; so the message attached to this press release will be seen and read by a multitude of people in Madison and the Madison area.

"FFRF has a right to air their opinion, and we have the privilege to respond with truth from the Word of God. Yes, I know that Anne Gaylor and Co. mock the Word of God, but I would encourage them then to at least take a good, long look at the creation around them. And then they would do well to consider Romans 1:18-20:

'For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.'

"One might say Gaylor and the other mockers with FFRF are in double trouble. They not only have the witness of God in His creation around them, but they also have the witness of God revealed in His Word and have had the gospel of Jesus Christ preached to them on more than one occasion. John 3:36: 'He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.'"
