Not the
end. Not the beginning of the end. But perhaps, the end of the
beginning.
A
statement by Ralph Ovadal, pastor of Pilgrims Covenant Church, founder
of Wisconsin Christians United* |
| It
has come to our attention that the homosexual singer Elton John has thrown
$20,000 into the rising torrent of cash flowing into
Wisconsin
from "LGBT"
organizations intent on defeating the marriage amendment which has been
proposed for our state constitution. But we believe
Sodom
's efforts will be too
little, too late, in comparison to the years of effort and sweat (and yes,
in a couple of instances, our blood) invested in the cause of truth.
Apparently, the homosexuals' strategists are sensing the same, as they are
stooping to every sort of deception to confuse the people of Wisconsin and
convince them that a no vote on the amendment would actually be a vote for
marriage.
Beginning
in 1993, Wisconsin Christians United* and Pilgrims Covenant Church have
been flooding
Wisconsin
with the truth about
homosexuality — truth which we trust has greatly helped to lay a
groundwork for a victory in the marriage amendment fight. We have
done this through radio programs, television appearances, media
interviews, debates, rallies, forums, radio ads, billboards, preaching,
countless pickets, and relentless lit dropping and mass mailings of our
brochures Homosexuality:
The Truth and What
the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality. Those tracts
also include the most important message of all — the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ — and since last year, most have included a marriage
amendment flyer insert.
It
has been our contention that the homosexual juggernaut can only be turned
back by a concerted, ongoing campaign of truth-spreading to the people of
Wisconsin
. Since last year alone,
we have mailed and lit dropped 180,000 of our marriage amendment flyers
and over 300,000 of our other brochures on homosexuality. With that much
truth spread across
Wisconsin
, it is little wonder
that the homosexual strategists are putting their hopes on big cash and
big lies geared to confuse the people of
Wisconsin
.
Whether
the marriage amendment passes or not next Tuesday, the
battle against the fascist-minded homosexual movement will not be over.
Should there be a victory, no one should think the contest is settled. To
paraphrase Winston Churchill, the passage of a marriage amendment will not
be the end of the struggle against the New Sodom which has raised itself
up in our midst, intent on destroying morality, family, religious liberty,
and true Christianity. A victory will not be the end of that struggle; it
will not even be the beginning of the end. But it may indeed be the end of
the beginning here in
Wisconsin
.
