| Here's an interesting article
by Milwaukee Journal Sentinel columnists Spivak & Bice. It
appeared on their blog; I'm not sure if it has yet appeared in the
newspaper.
Pastor Ralph Ovadal

Spivak and Dan Bice trudge
through the scores of local political blogs so you don’t have
to. Here’s a peek at the good, the not-so-good, the truly
offensive or the just sort of interesting. Also read their newspaper

Repeatedly Rapping Reynolds
Radio yapper and Republican power-broker Charlie Sykes spends a good
chunk of his day blasting the mainstream media for never giving a righty a
fair shake.
But it's Sykes who is
going after an incumbent Republican senator with the type of
gusto seldom seen in any newspaper.
In his column that runs in the suburban CNI newspapers, Sykes uses a
bazooka to blast Sen. Tom Reynolds, a West Allis Republican known
for proposing wacky legislative ideas and for asking job applicants about
their sex lives and religious beliefs.
Writes Sykes:
What do you do about the whackos, the extremists, the moon howlers?
This, of course, brings me to State Senator Tom Reynolds (R-West Allis).
Sykes takes particular aim at Reynolds for being pals with and doing
printing work for Ralph Ovadal, a fanatical Monroe minister who Sykes
notes is an "anti-gay activist with decidedly non-mainstream quirks
of his own."
Those are fighting words, Charlie. Do you have anything to back them
up?
Lest calling the pope a “minister of Satan” was too subtle,
Ovadal declared that (Pope) John Paul “was an accursed man who deceived
millions . . . such a man is not a Christian, not a servant of God, and
will not be a citizen of heaven.”
Sykes adds later:
This is not just outside the mainstream, but outside the farthest
suburbs of the mainstream.
In response to Sykes' recent attacks on him, Ovadal helps the Milwaukee
talk-show host make his case with a posting called "Sykes
Goes Psycho Again," on his church's Web site.
Actually, Charlie has had that fetish for a number of years,
raking me over on his program for my opposition to the Mazo nude beach, my
biblical stand on homosexuality, and last but not least, my teaching on
the pope and his counterfeit church.
And if that isn't enough, here's something that's really out of this
world (and we're not talking about Reynolds or Ovadal):
Sykes was scooped in his attack by none other than Paul Soglin, the
far-left former mayor of Madison. In his blog Waxing America, Soglin first
pointed to Reynolds'
links to Ovadal late last year. Sykes then went on to Soglin's
site earlier this month to praise his work:
You deserve credit for being ahead of the curve on this. Nice job.
Good analysis. As strange as it may seem, I think we've found something we
agree on.
Sykes and Soglin seeing eye to eye - maybe there is hope for the Middle
East after all.
