Tom Reynolds and
the Conference on Homo-Fascism
A Statement by Pastor Ralph Ovadal |
| It
has come to my attention that various organizations and personalities have
once more been misrepresenting a 2003 Wisconsin Christians United
conference. Currently, this is being done to attack state Senator Tom
Reynolds. No doubt, this situation will only intensify as the fall
election season approaches. The WCU conference mentioned was dubbed
"International Conference on Homo-Fascism." It featured speakers
from several nations in addition to the USA. The purpose of the conference
was to explore a rising tide of intolerance and even persecution of
Bible-believing Christians by homosexual organizations and their allies.
In the interest of bringing some truth to any discussion on the
International Conference on Homo-Fascism and, in turn, Reynolds's very
brief visit to it, I am forwarding a December 8, 2003 press release sent
out by WCU in response to public allegations made by Action Wisconsin
about the conference (see below).
It should be noted that several months ago,
WCU was absorbed into the ministry of the church I pastor, Pilgrims
Covenant Church. The work WCU did continues to be done, but as a ministry
of PCC.
After AW sent out its inflammatory,
dishonest press release with wildly out-of-context comments taken from
speeches made at WCU's conference, the press did contact me for our side
of the story. It is a credit to the press that AW's allegations that WCU
speakers called for "killing gays" never "grew legs"
and became a big story at the time. Now it appears that there is a
concerted effort to revive this issue in order to kill the political
career of Tom Reynolds and, no doubt, lend credibility to homosexual agent
provocateurs who specialize in casting every opponent to their agenda as
a potential murderer.

Action Wisconsin
Proves WCU's Point |
| On October 9-10, 2003, WCU put on
an event called the International Conference on Homo-Fascism. Speakers
from several countries shared how religious liberty and freedom of speech
have been attacked by the proponents of homosexuality. WCU has made tapes
of the conference available to everyone and anyone at www.wcuweb.com.
On December 8, 2003, Action Wisconsin sent out a press release filled
with mischaracterizations of the conference and comparing WCU to the Ku
Klux Klan. Action Wisconsin is also calling on State Senator
Majority Leader Mary Panzer to "investigate, identify, and discipline
the state senator who attended the 'International Conference on
Homo-Fascism' in Milwaukee on October 10, 2003."
In addition, Action Wisconsin published comments made by speakers at
the conference. These comments were taken totally out of context from five
hours of speeches. For instance, Action Wisconsin has attempted to make it
look as though Pastor Grant Storms was encouraging Christians to shoot
homosexuals. In reality, Pastor Storms--a very animated, Billy-Sunday-type
speaker--was relating the biblical story of Jonathan and his armor bearer
and, in a technique which some preachers use, put a modern motif to it. As
Action Wisconsin well knows, he then went on to tell about how Christians
today need to stand up for what they believe in against all odds in the
political and religious struggles in which we find ourselves. Pastor
Storms's message had nothing to do with violence! Action Wisconsin knows
that none of the WCU speakers spoke of doing violence and that they
stressed the importance of sharing the gospel with homosexuals in hope of
bringing them to salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. WCU encourages
anyone interested in the truth of what was said at our conference to
obtain tapes of the speeches. We likewise encourage anyone who truly wants
to know what WCU is all about to check our web page at www.wcuweb.com.
"Action Wisconsin has proved our point. There is a form of fascism
afoot which employs slander, demonization, and demagoguery to marginalize
and silence all who oppose the homosexual agenda and stand for what the
Bible says about homosexuality. Action Wisconsin has combed through five
hours of speeches and taken a few comments out of context. Now they are
calling for a witch hunt to track down a state senator who simply dropped
into the conference to listen for awhile. If that isn't fascism, what
is? And how dare they compare WCU to the Ku Klux Klan? We hate racism.
One of our speakers at the conference ministers to the suffering
Christians in the South Sudan, who happen to be black. The church another
speaker pastors is 50% black. We have many individuals involved with WCU
who are black. This vicious, dishonest attack by Action Wisconsin upon WCU
and, by extension, all who hold to what the Bible says about homosexuality
will, in the long-run, serve well to further alert citizens to the danger
of a virulent form of fascism. Action Wisconsin has done their dirty work.
Now they are counting on the media to run with the story as they have
framed it. As for our part, we will continue to stand for biblical
truth."

Homo-Fascist
Watch
"Because sentence against an
evil work is not executed speedily,
therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do
evil."
Ecclesiastes 8:11 |
|
". . . it is
natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our
eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren, till
she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a
great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the
number of those who, having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the
things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part,
whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole
truth; to know the worst and provide for it."
Patrick Henry, March 23, 1775, Second Virginia Convention
Fascism is a political system whereby
all opposition to and dissent from the government is disallowed and
crushed. Fascism is a philosophy which tolerates no deviation from an
established norm, that being the dictates of a powerful elite. Fascism is
opposed to the eternal, unchanging, objective law of God and is based on
the subjective desires and goals of those who have the power to crush
their opposition. In many Western nations, a form of fascism has taken
root and presents a clear, present, and growing danger to Christian
liberty and the Church of Jesus Christ. This force for evil may justly be
referred to as "homo-fascism" due to the fact that those
espousing and driving it have as their goal to demonize, marginalize, and
silence any criticism of or opposition to homosexual acts and the sodomite
agenda. Already Christians in many countries are being arrested for
preaching what the Bible teaches concerning homosexual acts. In some
cases, special tribunals have been set up to punish such individuals. In
America, the machinery of tyranny is likewise being put into place.
The purpose of Homo-Fascist Watch is to
act as a firebell in the night, alerting and reminding all lovers of true
liberty bounded by God's immutable laws of the relentless advance of a
form of fascism which tolerates every sort of sexual deviation but no
deviation from the party line of a totalitarian, sexually perverse elite.
It is not the intention of Pilgrims Covenant Church to provoke mindless
hatred or violence against the sodomites. Hatred is a fearful master which
destroys its subjects; and those who live by the sword will die by the
sword. We urge you to pray for the sodomites with a compassionate heart
that those who are not yet reprobate will become adopted into the family
of God as forgiven, blood-washed followers of Jesus Christ. Pray for the
sodomites, but do not underestimate the ferociousness of their commitment
to crush all resistance to their cherished goals and do not neglect your
duty to resist such an evil force. "Who will rise up for me against
the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of
iniquity?" (Psalm 94:16). New Sodom is knocking at your door. Will
you, like Lot, offer them your family? Or will you take a courageous,
tenacious, principled, public stand for God's Word, Christian liberty, and
the future of millions yet unborn?
