Dear Friends,

 

I decided to send you a little midwinter reading to help keep you warm during these cold days. The message below, which I received by e-mail yesterday, is very typical of the vitriol which is regularly spewed out at us via e-mail, phone, and the U.S. Postal Service by persons claiming to be speaking in the name of our Lord. In this case, the writer is apparently a "naturist" who is upset by WCU's effective campaign against the naturists' craven desire to mainstream public nudity in Wisconsin. But virtually identical rhetoric is regularly sent our way by sodomites, pro-aborts, and yes, Roman Catholics. In each case, the writer has convinced himself that he is a Christian while I am a vicious, dangerous, hell-bound reprobate who brings reproach upon the name of Christ and the Word of God. Such are the times in which we live. But is it so surprising that the world would play so fast and loose with the gospel and its Author when so many "conservative" Christians do likewise? So many of the Lord's people who rightfully take a stand against certain evils, such as abortion and homosexuality, at the same time embrace such sinister dangers as ecumenism, perverted Bible translations, and women teaching and usurping authority over men in Christian ministries and on Christian radio. While the sodomites, pro-aborts, et. al are dangerous, there is nothing more dangerous than being out of God's will as we claim to fight in His name. But that is the modus operandi of the conservative Christian. In reality, "conservative Christian" is a simile for neo-evangelical. The Lord's people must return to the old paths (Jeremiah 6:16) from which so many have strayed or else face His chastening. "The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light" (Romans 13:12).

Ralph Ovadal, I rebuke you in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
You truly are pathetic! You are just wrong on so many levels, and like other cult leaders before you, you prey on people of lesser intellegence. It's no wonder you love to use the word "elitest" so much; you don't want followers with any brains who ask too many questions. You distort the First Amendment. You preach from basically an Old Testament viewpoint, conveniently ignoring many New Testament verses. You are a very poor salesman for the Lord. And, the crime of verbal abuse has been long established. Words do indeed hurt, and you use them like weapons. You cloak your own prejudices and phobias in the name of the Lord, and one day He will see to it that you pay for that. Make absolutely no mistake about it, Ralph. The naturists will oppose and fight you to the very end. They are just as well organized as you, just as determined, and just as well funded. Plus, they are breaking no laws. THEY'RE not the ones who have been taken to court. They've beat you down before and they'll beat you again. So go ahead, do what you think you have to do. Many have the strength of spirit to ignore the hateful words of you and your drones. They will walk past you like the "banging gong" that you are. Some will exercise their First Amendment rights, just as you claim to be doing, and oppose you to your face. It is their duty as Americans. Thomas Jefferson said that "dissent is the greatest form of patriotism." It is only the Holy Spirit within me that will not allow me to wish upon you a long and painful demise. Our Lord will extract his due upon you, Ralph. So have your fun while upon this earth. We'll all answer for our actions in the end.
