Today the homosexual group
Action Wisconsin (AW) is holding a day of training and lobbying at the
Wisconsin state capitol in Madison. The goal will be to derail a
proposed amendment to the Wisconsin State Constitution which would ban
state recognition of so-called same-sex marriage and civil unions. This
morning, AW will be training several hundred individuals in the best way
to apply pressure to elected officials. That training will take place at
the Best Western Inn on the Park, across from the capitol building. This
afternoon, beginning at 1:30, that training will be put into practice
when Action Wisconsin and Co. descend upon the state capitol to lobby
against the aforementioned constitutional amendment. Then at 3:30, AW
will host a rally on the steps of the capitol building.
Wisconsin Christians United
will be on hand to greet Action Wisconsin's cadres as they exit the Best
Western Inn (Main and Carroll Streets) and head for the capitol. We will
be preaching and handing out tracts as well as holding signs and banners
with biblical messages about the gospel, homosexuality, and marriage.
We also plan to be on hand prior to, during, and after Action
Wisconsin's rally.
"No doubt Action
Wisconsin, as is the habit of New Sodom's apologists, will wrap their
propaganda in 'Christian' rhetoric. There is a good chance some wolfish
clergy will also be on hand to add their imprimatur to the promotion of
perversion in the name of Jesus. It is our intent to make certain that
Action Wisconsin et. al as well as thousands of other citizens
of Madison hear what the Bible really says about marriage as well as sin
and salvation, hell and heaven. We have heard much talk about Jesus
having nothing to say about homosexuality or 'same-sex marriage.' This
denies the deity of the Son of God and puts him at odds with God the
Father. This pits God the Word against the Word of God (John 1:1-3,
John 14:9, Hebrews 1:1-3). It also ignores the words of Jesus in Matthew
19:1-12 in which he clearly defines marriage as one man and one woman
united for life. By God's grace, we intend to hold a good Bible study
today in Madison as we raise our banners and lift our voices in defense
of not just marriage but also the Word of God and the person of
Christ."

"The Pharisees also
came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man
to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto
them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made
them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father
and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one
flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore
God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
—Matthew 19:3-6
