Sowing Gospel Seed at the Farmers Market
More Than a Little Help from Our Friends
July 2, 2003
"My little
children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in
truth."
1 John 3:18
Dear Friends,
By the time that you receive this newsletter, the U.S.
Supreme Court's decision to strike down the Texas sodomy law will be old
news. At this point, I have done many radio and newspaper interviews on
that decision. Before and after it, I covered it, and the issues
surrounding it, in-depth in sermons, in e-mail messages, in a
well-published commentary,
and on my own program "The
Heart of the Matter." Quite frankly, I am ready to move on with
offensive operations, and no doubt you are too. If you would like more
commentary on that infamous, in-God's-face decision, check www.wcuweb.com,
www.theheartofthematteronline.com,
and www.sermonaudio.com/pcc.
The sodomites may be dancing in the streets; but we know that the Lord has
them, and their powerful judicial friends, in "derision"
and will, in His good time, "speak unto them in his wrath, and vex
them in his sore displeasure" (Psalm 2:4-5). Meanwhile, our job
is to be faithful to God's holy, immutable precepts and to share His
gracious offer of salvation to all who will truly repent and place all of
their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. That is what I tried my best to
do in the numerous interviews I did after the decision, including on a
Colorado talk show program.
On the local front, it appears that Wisconsin's
sodomite political machine may be gearing up for another run at passing
"pro-gay" legislation here in the Badger State. According to a
recent issue of In Step, the move is on to pressure "local
leaders, like politicians or clergy, to publicly support" a statewide
domestic partnership registry for sodomite sex partners. Legislation could
be introduced as soon as this fall. For the last several years, every
pro-sodomite bill that has been introduced has met a quick and decisive
death. We must make sure the same thing happens again. Now is the time to
fervently pray, energetically spread the truth about homosexuality, and
forcefully make your views known to both your state representative and
your state senator. It is not enough to simply win a vote against Sodom's
initiatives. Such assaults on law and morality must be decisively crushed.
Here is what needs to be done by every Christian:
1) Pray fervently against the homosexual
political and religious agenda every day and every Sunday in church. We
must not make the fatal, God-dishonoring mistake of not praying in this
critical hour. "Ye have not, because ye ask not" (James
4:2).
2) Call, e-mail, or write your state senator and
assemblyman and let them know that any vote for Sodom is a vote against
you and your family which will not be forgotten come election day.
3) If possible, come to any legislative hearings
which are held on pro-sodomite legislation.
4) Get the truth about homosexuality out to your
fellow citizens. The sodomites have come this far in large part because
Christians have allowed them to flood the culture with their propaganda
which is only powerful when it is unanswered. We must answer Sodom with
truth! I firmly believe that the sodomite machine is currently bogged down
in Wisconsin, at least in large part, because of the ten-year flood of
truth WCU has spread across our state which has laid the groundwork for
their recent defeats. But we all need to do much more, and so many
Christians are doing absolutely nothing! Right now the leadership of every
church should sit down and map out a strategy to go on the offensive
against New Sodom by flooding with truth the area in which the Lord has
planted them. Letters to the editor, lit drops, mailings, "wolf
hunts," school outreaches are all effective weapons in this war
between truth and deception, liberty and tyranny, law and license,
morality and depravity. Yes, we must also engage in other ministry work;
but remember, the sodomite host we face is not only a driving force behind
the sexual anarchy spreading across our nation, but it is also the tip of
the spear pointed at the heart of Christian liberty. The sodomites are
among the most vociferous, implacable enemies of the true gospel; and
their "theologians" are on the cutting edge of a new wave of
higher criticism which seeks to not only "re-interpret" major
passages of the Scriptures but also to even literally rewrite those
passages. Given all of that, and more, can there be any doubt that our
Lord is asking concerning the sodomites, "Who will rise up for me
against the evildoers? or who will stand up for me against the workers of
iniquity?" (Psalm 94:16)? What is needed is a systematic
dissemination of truth, and there are many ways everyone can help and
still have plenty of time for other essential ministry. Currently, we are
signing individuals and churches up to take part in a very timely,
critically needed offensive in the rural areas of our state. Please
consider taking part in Operation Saturation even if you live in a big
city or your church is a big city church. In such a case, WCU will be
happy to suggest some rural areas of our state which would profit greatly
by a mailing.
5) Support WCU with prayer and financial gifts
as led by the Lord. Currently, we are getting so much literature out that
we have overrun our ability to resupply. If something does not change
soon, we will be forced to restrict our literature distribution to only
Wisconsin. This would be a shame for a number of reasons, including the
fact that a stand for righteousness and truth anywhere helps those who are
standing everywhere. Lord willing, we are now realistically hoping to
disseminate a third of a million brochures this year alone in Wisconsin
and around the nation. Remember, each of our brochures either has the
gospel in it, or we stuff it with a salvation tract. What is it worth just
to get the truth about homosexuality out to such a mass of people, not to
mention putting the gospel of Jesus Christ in their hands! Our heartfelt
thanks to those of you who have faithfully helped in this critical,
unfortunately at this time, one-of-a-kind ministry.
For years, WCU has been warning Christians that the
sodomite movement is not just some rag-tag collection of sexually
perverted libertines or a confused community of sad souls. The sodomite
movement is a satanically inspired, lust driven, hate motivated, fascist
movement which threatens the safety and liberty of every man, woman, and
child in this nation. It is a beast with a twisted mind and a cruel heart.
This truth is testified to by Scripture and history. From the violent men
of Sodom to the blood-thirsty, sexually perverse Canaanite culture; from
the bloody sodomite Aztec priests to the "gay" cannibals of the
New Hebrides Islands and the African continent; from the Nazi sodomite
thugs at the center of Hitler's rise to power to the Jeffrey Dahmers of
today, the verdict on the "homosexual lifestyle" is in, and it
is conclusive. It should be no surprise that a great mass of empirical
evidence shows the Scriptures to be true in this regard as they are in
every regard. Yes, we should fervently pray for and ardently share the
gospel with sodomite men and women, with a special emphasis on the young
people. But we must face the hard truth that the individuals who engage in
"vile affections," changing "the natural use into that
which is against nature," are soon enough given "over to a
reprobate mind" by God and become everything the Scriptures say in
Romans 1:29-32, even if they are not yet able to fully manifest those
characteristics at this time. Yes, we must pray for the salvation of
individual sodomites, but we must not make the fatal, unbiblical error of
thinking our responsibility ends there.
This is a critical time in our nation's history and in
the history of the Church of Jesus Christ. Unless we Christians are
willing to zealously engage in a ministry of public truth telling, we may
soon find our churches under persecution by a sodomite-controlled Public
Ministry of Truth. Those who would scoff at such a notion need only look
to Canada which stands poised on the brink of passing Bill C-250 which
would make "homophobia" a crime punishable under genocide laws.
Other Western nations are at a similar place. May God grant that the
Christian Church in the U.S.A. be the rock upon which the sodomite armada
is wrecked. It can be so if each of us will work, pray, and trust in our
God who blesses the defense of His truth.

written,
I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and
therefore speak."

WCU Lit Drops and
Pickets
Unless otherwise specified, all WCU brochures given
out during this reporting period were either "Homosexuality:
The Truth" or "What
the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality." Both also contain the
gospel.
WCU lit dropped in Mt. Horeb, Verona, Menomonee Falls,
Milwaukee, Beloit, Prairie du Chien, Black River Falls, Onalaska,
Fennimore, and Portage. WCU held pickets in Mt. Horeb, Menomonee Falls,
Fennimore, Prairie du Chien, and Portage. At one picket--and we will never
tell in which town--a police officer told the WCU Christians, "God
bless you!" At another picket, passers-by were overwhelmingly in
support of WCU's message. One teenage girl on a bicycle tried to give
WCU what was literally her last dollar to buy more literature. Back

Menomonee Falls Truth
Deluge
On May 27, WCU blitzed Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. We
started the day by handing out "What
the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality" to hundreds of
students arriving for their day's classes at Menomonee Falls High School.
The school administration were hostile but unsuccessful in an attempt to
have us leave the public sidewalk in front of the school.

Next we did a literature drop of homes with the
"Homosexuality: The Truth" brochure. We also lit dropped homes,
churches, and businesses with the same brochure in the afternoon.

is in the Bill of Rights; and it really
does protect religious liberty,

for Christians! Menomonee Falls

At a noon-time picket, we experienced some hostility
from the police, portending of things to come. We also had the chance to
witness to several people, including a very distraught, agitated young
woman whose brother died as a homosexual. At the end of a long
conversation about God's Word and the gospel, the young woman bowed her
head, clasped her hands, and with tears streaming down her face, joined
with me as I prayed that the Lord would not only show her the truth about
homosexuality but that He would also grant her repentance and salvation
through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Mike Foht and Doug Berthon also
spent quite a bit of time sharing truth with several men looking for
answers.

At our late afternoon rush-hour picket, the manager of
a car wash called the police and asked them to remove us from the area,
which they did attempt to do by harassment, subterfuge, and threat. (We
were not even in front of the car wash business.) Thus was begun a
constitutional tug of war, not to mention a war of nerves, between us and
three of Menomonee Falls's "finest" who threatened us with
arrest and even demanded to know all sorts of information they had no
right to know.
I was chastised by the sergeant on hand and was told I
should unquestionably do as I am told by the civil government seeing I am
a pastor. At one point, a young Christian man stopped to see if we were
doing okay after seeing three squad cars and their drivers surrounding us.
The officers ordered him to vacate the area as well! Fortunately, the
sergeant and his men said all the right things which make for a solid
federal lawsuit. In the end, they realized that they had played a role in
a made-for-courtroom drama and said that they were going to confiscate our
video tape! But by the grace of God and a lapse in vigilance by the MFPD
officers, our Christian brother with the video camera ended up on the
other side of the street, which just happened to be a different
jurisdiction, specifically New Berlin. After a short consultation, several
of the MFPD officers did venture into that jurisdiction, but the bird had
already escaped the snare.
The next day, I called the police chief of MFPD,
letting him know that we are coming back to town and that we want written
assurance that our First Amendment rights, including our religious
liberties, will be honored. He seemed to be a genuinely nice, professional
man; so I hope the situation will be straightened out without court
action. Praise be to God that Menomonee Falls was drenched with truth by
the end of the day and the enemy's schemes to silence our witness came to
naught. Back to top.
A Day in the Dells
On Saturday, June 14, WCU staged our monthly pro-life
picket in Wisconsin Dells, lining the busy streets with huge pictures of
murdered preborn babies and babies in the womb as well as signs displaying
Scripture messages. We also gave out WCU's pro-life gospel tract "No
Excuses." After the picket and a time of fellowship over lunch,
we set up a gospel banner on the sidewalks of downtown Wisconsin Dells and
preached to the teeming masses there. Hundreds of gospel tracts were also
handed out and some WCU lit as well. Back

On Saturday, June 7, WCU preached and gave out
salvation tracts to thousands of lost souls at a farmers market on the
Capitol Square in Madison. We also passed out the WCU brochure "What
the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality." The police left us alone,
and we saw evidence of some sinners being moved by the preaching of God's
Word. Of course, we also saw evidence of hatred of God's Word by others.
All in all, we were encouraged and comforted that the Holy Spirit was
effectually working through the preaching of the gospel. Back

More Than a Little
Help from Our Friends
Large quantities of WCU brochures were provided to
Christians for distribution in the following cities: Viroqua, Milwaukee,
and Waukesha, Wisconsin; Lithia Springs, Georgia; Petersburg and
Lynchburg, Virginia; Rockford, Illinois; Keokuk and Baxter, Iowa;
Phoenixville and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and
Crown Point and Lancaster, New York. In some of the cities mentioned,
dedicated Christians lit dropped literally thousands of copies of either
"Homosexuality: The Truth" or "What the Bible Really Says
About Homosexuality." One of those cities, Minneapolis, just happens
to be the site of an upcoming convention of the Episcopal Church of
America.
WCU brochures were also given out by Christians at the
Milwaukee, Wisconsin "Pridefest"; a--believe it or
not--"gay" rodeo near Omaha, Nebraska; and a high school in
Portage, Wisconsin. In addition, WCU sent out a number of copies of the
booklet "Why
Is the Church Silent . . . Again?" to such places as Anza,
California; Lititz, Pennsylvania; and New Orleans, Louisiana. WCU
literature was also sent on request to several Christians in the U.K. Back
