What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality

Homosexuality: The Truth

Operation Saturation Report
WCU Ministry Summary for March 31-May 21
Another citizen expresses his concern about our hate

May 21, 2004

"Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?"
Psalm 85:6

Dear Friends,

Recently some pastors held a rally in Dayton, Tennessee to preach against same-sex "marriage." As usual, there was a neo-evangelical pastor available to muddy up the water and to spew out some false doctrine. Consider this quote from a newspaper account of the event:

After listening to several hours of speeches, the Rev. Chris Pugh of The Father's House in Dayton had also heard enough.

"I'm very disturbed about the anger I hear coming from behind that pulpit. Homosexuality is no different than a man murdering somebody or stealing a piece of bubble gum. It's sin, but the Bible says gluttony is a sin, and I see a lot of fat people around here," he said.

Pugh said he's not condoning homosexuality, "but let him who has no sin cast the first stone. A spirit of hatred will never win the lost," he said. (www.tennessean.com, May 8, 2004)

These days, apologizing for God's holiness and distorting His Word in order to curry favor with the world is all the rage among many Christians. The unbiblical equalitarian sin doctrine is also in full bloom. Pastors publicly preaching that all sin is equal do much to advance the agenda of the devil. Certainly any sin, no matter how "small," justly sentences the sinner to hell. Likewise, "little" sins in the life of a Christian grieve the Holy Ghost, stunt spiritual growth, and are stepping stones to worse rebellion. However, that does not mean God views and responds to all sin the same. Consider, for instance, John 19:11: "Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin." Leviticus chapter 18 gives a list of sins for which God will destroy a nation. The Bible tells us that innocent bloodshed pollutes the land and can only be expiated by the execution of the murderer (Numbers 35:33). Proverbs chapter six contains a list of sins which are "an abomination" to God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 makes it clear that there are sins which define the person living in them as not being a Christian. Sodom was destroyed by fire and brimstone because of sexual perversion, sin which God labels "very grievous" (Genesis 18:20). When was the last time a city had that happen to it for gum stealing? Is it any surprise that most of God's people are inept in the Scriptures, evil is advancing, and God's judgment is upon our nation when so many Christian pastors cannot even bring themselves to preach and defend God's Word as it is written? And evil is clearly advancing on all fronts, including the sodomite front.

For instance, Canada has passed C-250 into law, and Massachusetts is "marrying" sodomite couples. C-250 makes it possible for authorities in Canada to now charge with a felony persons committing "hate speech." Surely the sodomites parading their perversion and mocking marriage in Massachusetts are committing felonies according to God's law. Increasingly, good is viewed as evil and evil as good. The sodomites are on a roll and exuding confidence that soon their every dream will be realized with all their enemies crushed under their feet. Why should Sodom's sons and daughters not be a bit euphoric at this time, considering the relentless progress they are making in "the church," through the government education system, and at many levels of the civil government? The sodomite plan for America is no different than their plan for Canada and elsewhere in the world. They use their wolfish clergy along with the silence and compromise of Bible-believing Christians to convince the majority of citizens that God condones sexual perversion and hates true Bible believers. With that accomplished, Sodom's heirs will use the full weight of the civil government to silence their opposition, especially followers of Jesus Christ. Even now, they are working busily, even feverishly, to train our nation's police force to see things Sodom's way.

For instance, did you know that the Gay Officers Action League of New England (GOAL/NE) was selected to do a workshop at the Eleventh Annual Conference of the International Association of Chiefs of Police? In a press release, the president of GOAL/NE, Detective Michael P. Carney, rightly called that arrangement a "historic moment for law enforcement as well as for the gay community." Christians must be aware that increasing numbers of sodomites are becoming police officers, judges, teachers, social workers, and soldiers in the armed forces. Christians must also understand that depravity begets depravity, thus the numbers of individuals involved in sodomite perversion is increasing as well.

But there are some rough spots on the sodomites' road to victory, and Wisconsin is one of them. Back in the early `80s, our state beat out Massachusetts and a number of other liberal states to claim the title of "The Gay Rights State" by being first to include sexual orientation under non-discrimination laws. In the `80s, the Wisconsin state legislature also passed, not one, but two hate crime laws and decriminalized sodomy as well. However, in recent years, the sodomite agenda has not fared so well here in the Badger State. As our current governor has observed, if the bills just spoken of which passed in the `80s were introduced today, they would fail. While Vermont has instituted civil unions and Massachusetts "same-sex marriage," Wisconsin has done neither. In fact, every time Sodom's favorite son, Rep. Mark Pocan, and his friends boast of passing civil union or other pro-sodomite legislation, they end up humiliated. In 2001 and 2002, they introduced several such bills which never got out of committee. Last winter, they announced that this spring they would actually pass similar bills, but they never even introduced them! Instead, the legislature passed a constitutional amendment which would ban the recognition of both sodomite marriages and civil unions! If the amendment bill passes the legislature again after next January, it will then go to the people in a referendum. But the heirs of Sodom are not going to concede that fight. They are going to be cajoling, intimidating, lying, and lobbying.

For many reasons, it is of the utmost importance that Wisconsin citizens be "discipled" with the truth about homosexuality. That is what Wisconsin Christians United is all about--that and preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are looking forward to a very busy summer, but we are also looking ahead to the fall. With the vote on the state constitutional amendment coming up after the first of the year, it is imperative that we unleash as much truth as possible next fall right up to and beyond January. As the Lord supplies, we are hoping to do more saturation mailings of our literature to rural homes (see below) even as we continue prophetic pickets and our weekly lit dropping in towns and cities. Of course, we also believe that it is important to hand out literature to students at the government schools. I cannot stress how important it is for us to reach the young people of our state with the gospel first but also with the truth about homosexuality.

Passing out gospel tracts in Stoughton

Passing out gospel tracts in Stoughton

Recently, I and several others were street preaching and handing out salvation tracts in Stoughton, Wisconsin at the Syttende Mai celebration. We were surrounded by a crowd of heckling, cursing, smoke-bomb-lighting young people who included a large number of sodomite youth. The hatred displayed by these young people toward Christians was breathtaking at times. Their perception of the Bible and Bible believers clearly originates from false prophets and wolfish pastors preaching a counterfeit Christ who celebrates anarchy and sexual perversion. At one point, the young people were chanting, "Go home, Nazis." This does not bode well for religious freedom or the safety of our loved ones in the future. Christians must get out of the pews and shake loose from the deadly deception that Christ's command to "go ye therefore, and teach all nations" was directed at "pro-family" organizations and Christian radio. Christians must pray fervently while laboring zealously for the cause and name of Christ. That is what the Lord expects of us. That is what He will bless. And we must remember to always, always put the gospel of Jesus Christ first in our ministry work and never compromise it.

By the way, we preached the gospel to thousands and had a number of good conversations with people while we were in Stoughton, including with a young Mormon girl and a young man deeply into Wicca. Both were powerfully impacted by the gospel, and the young man expressed interest in finding a good, fundamentalist Christian church to visit.

during  a WCU gospel ministry event

I want to thank those who distributed WCU lit at sixteen high schools on the Day of Silence. I led a team that went to high schools in Viroqua, Holmen, and Black River Falls. All three events went very well. The first one was quiet but very successful. The second produced arrogant police officers, a nasty administration, and a riotous crowd of young people, which afforded us an opportunity to preach and share the gospel one-on-one with some visible results. The last stop found a professional, friendly school administration and police department, along with many supportive parents and young people. Of course, there were also one lunatic parent breathing threats and a group of sodomite young people mocking us, even as they heard the truth that can set them free from Satan and hell. I had many, many good reports from other teams, and our intelligence shows that WCU's Day of Silence ministry is causing school administrations to think twice about the controversy which that sodomite propaganda day has brought to their schools. The Christian just cannot lose when he shares the Word of God publicly, and the devil cannot help but lose.

This summer, in addition to refuting the lies of New Sodom with the truth from God's Word, we will also be doing ministry on the Mazo beach parking lot, doing our usual monthly pro-life pickets, and staging a number of gospel preaching events at large gatherings.

Speaking of street preaching, as part of a day of ministry in two towns, on May 8th, we raised our gospel banners on main street in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. As we set up, the streets looked semi-deserted, and the traffic noise was deafening at times. Once we began preaching, the sidewalks were suddenly bustling with pedestrians, and the traffic noise quieted considerably. One group of about twelve to fifteen young men in front of a tattoo parlor stood and listened to our preaching for forty-five minutes. God does desire that His gospel be preached to every creature! There is absolutely no excuse for the church which will not engage in the public promulgation of the gospel just as there is no excuse for the individual Christian who makes no effort to even pass out a gospel tract!

We will be going through tens of thousands of our WCU brochures and salvation tracts in the coming months; so we are certainly appreciative of those who help us to keep going. It is help we do need. I want to thank all of you who are praying for WCU and also those who give financial gifts. I will continue to strive to ensure that your investment reaps a bountiful return.

Another citizen expresses
his concern about our hate

"Wow! I received your pamphlet today on my door. It sent shivers down my spine that the hate mongers had been to my door. The hypocrisy that you and your followers display is staggering! Love thy neighbor! Do not spout bible versus [sic] to me. There is no place in the bible that says hatred is a value. What rights are homosexuals asking for? To live their lives free of fear and hatred from ignorant individuals such as Ralph Ovadal. Read your brochure. Maybe next time, you should have someone proof read for content. Maybe if your [sic] good, someone with more than a 4th grade education can help you. I think when you are faced with your final reckoning you will have a lot more to answer for than any homosexual. I for one hope so. Love they [sic] neighbor Ralph, maybe you should try it sometime. Here's hoping this letter finds you buried underneath a gas truck so you can taste your own blood before you enter the kingdom of Lucifer." Back to top.
