Literature Dropping

Thousands of Madison homes were lit dropped with "Homosexuality: The Truth" and a flyer titled "Representative Mark Pocan: Siding with Perversion Against Children." The second flyer documents sodomite Pocan's (D-Madison) frantic defense of his brethren's tax-funded, open-air bathhouse on the Wisconsin River near Mazomanie. The town of Kimberly was lit dropped as were Clinton, Black Earth, and Mazomanie. WCU also began a systematic effort to lit drop in the city of Kenosha, a real hot bed of pro-homosexual propagandists. The Kenosha effort will continue on for a number of months. If you would like to help, give WCU a call. Back to top.

AIDS Walk Witness

"...Choose ye this day whom ye will serve..." Joshua 1:15

"...Choose ye this day whom ye will serve..."
Joshua 1:15

This year, Sodom's offspring gleefully boasted that they would avoid WCU's witness by scheduling the Sunday AIDS Walk a half-hour earlier, knowing that it would be very hard for Christians to get to the location in time with the walk starting at noon. The organizers of the walk also smugly stated that the route had been changed and they were not going to give out the new course to anyone. Of course, WCU simply set up our banners at the finish gate this year, and what a blessing it was to be able to witness and preach to the thousands of walkers for a far greater amount of time as they straggled to the finish lines in small groups instead of having rushed by in mass from the starting line as in other years. What a blessing it is to see God confound the wicked and bless the efforts of His people! Amidst much mocking and threatening, even by several police officers, hundreds of tracts were distributed, the Word of God was strongly preached, and the world passing by saw the Church of Jesus Christ taking an uncompromised stand against the "unfruitful works of darkness." WCU's petition drive continues in the towns near Mazo beach. If you can be of help, please call us.

On October 8, 120 people joined together to picket the state DNR headquarters. The good turn-out, compelling messages on our signs, and the literature we handed out sent a strong message to DNR head George Meyer. A number of DNR workers expressed shame over the beach that their department is maintaining at Mazo.

On October 27, a legislative hearing was held in Mazomanie concerning a bill which has been introduced by Representative Duane Johnsrud. Almost two-hundred people showed up, the vast majority of them to register and testify against the Mazo beach, although many could not give unqualified support to Johnsrud's bill. (See Pastor Ovadal's statement.) The hearing featured a number of local citizens relating shocking stories of the harm that Mazo beach has caused them and their children. Also taking an impassioned stand against the nude beach were a number of sportsmen and several persons holding positions on various conservation boards. The one theme which seemed to dominate the entire affair was that public nudity is already unlawful in Wisconsin and the DNR should simply put an end to the nudity at Mazo beach.

At the same time, a small number of nudists of several sexual persuasions selfishly insisted their "right" to cavort naked, even in front of children, be preserved. By the end of the hearing, a number of legislators on the committee dropped all pretense of having any respect for the nudists and began to show open disgust with their claims. Back to top.

Media & Speaking Opportunities

WCU director Ralph Ovadal did a number of media interviews during September and October. Pastor Ovadal was also privileged to speak to a meeting of eleven Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastors. The event went very well and each pastor was given a copy of Answering Sodom. Back to top.

The Legislative Front

Recently, Ralph Ovadal wrote each state assemblymen and senator to encourage him to take a strong stance against any and all pro-homosexual legislation. Speaking on behalf of WCU, Pastor Ovadal reminded the legislators that there is a growing number of citizens who are very serious about rolling back the sodomite tide and that a pro-homosexual political stance could become increasingly costly to hold. Thus far, Pastor Ovadal has received a number of encouraging letters and even phone calls in reply.

As of this writing, Sodom's favorite son Representative Mark Pocan is gathering co-sponsors for two legislative bills that he plans on introducing in the near future. If voted into law, one measure would create a statewide domestic partnership registry under which "all benefits recognized by the state for spouses in marriage would be afforded to domestic partnerships, including adoption, inheritance, tax filing benefits, insurance benefits, property rights and more . . ."

Pocan's other bill "would allow any governmental entity which utilizes the [state insurance] pool to offer health insurance coverage to their employee's domestic partners." Both of these measures will also be introduced into the State Senate with Fred Risser as the sponsor.

The important thing to do with regard to Pocan's latest impending assaults on the law of God is to call and/or write your state representative and senator to remind them in no uncertain terms that you expect them to work and vote against any legislation which would benefit the homosexual cause--any legislation no matter how innocuous it may seem. You might want to let them know that there is a growing number of citizens who view a pro-homosexual political stance to be a disqualification for public office.

On the flip side of the coin, Representative Steve Nass has introduced a bill, AB500, to prohibit the state from negotiating health benefits for unmarried couples of any gender mix. Back to top.
