from Some Friendly Letters
June 9, 2005
Dear Friends,
I know this is a poor time of year
to send out a newsletter, but the time has come to do just that. Our
ministry updates, like our street ministry itself, have much in common
with icebergs. We try to give you a general overview of our efforts. At
the same time, much remains under the surface, so to speak, and out of
sight. We obviously do not have the space here—and you might not have
the patience—to accommodate a long, detailed report containing a record
of the many witnessing opportunities the Lord has brought our way.
Certainly the same holds true for the many comments we have
received—good, bad, and ugly—from people greatly impacted by our
ministry since our last
newsletter.
For instance, several weeks ago, a
lady in a towering rage called our office as a result of a lit drop which
we did with the brochure Homosexuality:
The Truth. By the grace of God, I was able to talk the lady
down. We ended up dealing with a wide variety of issues, including an
abortion she had earlier in life. Halfway through our lengthy
conversation, our discussion was centered on the way of salvation, with
the woman now calling me “sir” and hanging on my every word. She
clearly wanted to get right with God, having been convicted by the Word
and Spirit of God. In the end, she thanked me for caring about her and
promised to read the salvation message in the brochure which had triggered
her initial rage. It is my prayer that the word she heard and the word she
read were used by the Lord to bring the faith she needed to be saved.
But as I said, given the lit
dropping, picketing, and public evangelism in which members of our church
are involved, there is much we simply cannot share with you due to sheer
volume. Anytime Christians are on the street as witnesses for Christ, they
are blessed with one witnessing opportunity after another.
I do want to thank all of you for
keeping us supplied with some of the essentials that we need to keep a
steady flow of truth streaming into the hearts and minds of so many people
every week, week in and week out. Thanks to your faithful assistance, we
just recently printed another 50,000 What
the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality. It is especially
important that we continue to lit drop homes across our state with that
brochure now that the sodomite “ministry” Soulforce has started to
hand out a booklet titled What the Bible Says—and Doesn’t
Say—about Homosexuality. Recently, Mel White’s ravening wolves
from Soulforce were at the farmers’ market in Madison handing out that
booklet. Lord willing, we intend to be at that same event soon preaching
the gospel. If that wolf pack is coming back, I pray they do so when we
are there. May the sword of the Spirit pierce the hearts of many in the
coming days!
Of course, we are also lit dropping
homes with What
the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality and Homosexuality:
The Truth. Every one of those tracts that is dropped, or
mailed out, is stuffed with the flyer
on sodomite “marriage,” which is included in this mailing.
This too is very important considering apostate churches in this state
have teamed up with the sodomite group Action Wisconsin to run newspaper
ads against the proposed amendment to our state constitution which would
ban the perverse fantasy known as “gay marriage.” Our own Mike Foht is
pounding the pavement every week somewhere in the state, with varying
amounts of help, lit dropping homes with one of the two brochures
mentioned. He also conducts an “anti-homosexuality” picket or two
every week with whomever he has working with him. So every week, we are
fighting back with truth against the sophistry and lies of New Sodom. To
my knowledge, no other ministry is countering the sodomite propagandists
in that critical way.
Of course, we also lit drop gospel
tracts, and we get literature of different types out in many
various ways. I have included our new, redesigned pro-life
tract. Our church members use that tract at four different
Planned Parenthoods where we do ministry. Two of those PPs are
child-killing centers; the other two specialize in child perversion and
abortion referral.
I do want to turn now to a summary
of some of this ministry’s efforts over the past two months. Every one
of you who prayed for us and supported us in other ways had a part in
those efforts. I want to remind you again that we are gradually phasing
Wisconsin Christians United out and putting all WCU ministry under the
oversight of the church I pastor, Pilgrims Covenant. We firmly believe
that this will bring more glory to God, further strengthen Christ’s
Church, and be a counterweight to those apostate churches which are
growing increasingly bold in proclaiming their perverted version of
God’s Word. We are being very careful about this transition, which will
not be completed for several months. At present, those who wish to support
the ministry efforts which are summarized in this newsletter can still
send gifts to WCU or they can send their gifts to PCC. Any gifts, now or
in the future, which we receive for PCC in any way except in the offering
basket we put out on the Lord’s Day will be used strictly for the
statewide (and nationwide) public ministry reported on by our newsletters.
If any of you have any questions about this transition, please do not
hesitate to ask them. It has always been our determination to be above
board in all matters. If anyone supporting this ministry is in need of a
copy of our church’s articles of faith or an actual, precise accounting
of how gifts to PCC/WCU are used, please let me know. You have a right to
expect such accountability, and we have a duty to provide it. May our Lord
be glorified through our combined efforts to win souls and reprove the
unfruitful works of darkness.

Here they come!
Students from
Verona High School gathering
for us to preach to them.
|
Once again this year, we organized
truth blitzes of government schools which were participating in the
sodomite propaganda event, the Day
of Silence. I led a team which went to four different schools.
We handed out many brochures exposing the lies of New Sodom and shared the
gospel with the young people who not only read the brochures
but also circulated them among their friends. We also held signs with
biblical messages and did some preaching.
 |
|
We gave out many
tracts on the
Day of Silence. Here students exiting
the Richland Center High School
parking lot stop to get one.
|
All in all, it truly was a long day
for the devil, and not just at the schools which our team visited. We
supplied literature for other truth teams which ministered on the public
sidewalks in front of twenty Wisconsin schools and eighteen schools in
three other states. It almost makes me hope the Day of Silence is held
again next year, even though enthusiasm for it is beginning to wane,
thanks to the Christians who have taken the opportunity to flood many
schools with the truth that sets sinners free from bondage to the devil
and an eternity in hell. Back

Settling in for the
siege at Mazo. These

Mazo
Beach: The Seventh Year
 |
|
One
of ours confronts one of theirs
with the Word of God.
|
We were back at the tax-funded,
illegal Mazo
Beach on Saturday,
June 4. As usual, we conducted our ministry in the parking lot
and on the walk leading to the beach, not on the beach itself where the
“naturists” do their lewd, crude, nude thing. The numbers of
beachgoers were down drastically, and we had a number of turn-aways as
well. High on the list of other encouragements was the fact that no
children were taken to the beach at all the entire time that we were on
the scene from 8:00 AM until almost 1:00 PM.

 |
|
The naturists hear
the truth as soon
as the wheels of their cars stop
turning. Sometimes before that.
|
During our stay, it rained and
hailed very near us. Several hours before we left, things looked pretty
grim. I took a moment by myself and prayed that the Lord would give us two
more hours, as that would take us up to the moment which I had designated
as our departure time. We made it to that time, closed with prayer, and
climbed into our cars just as the clouds opened to dump buckets of rain on
Mazo Beach and the forlorn nudists who had made the one-mile trek to
parade naked in public, compliments of a corrupt DNR administration, a
lawless D.A., and millions of long-suffering taxpayers.
 |
|
After the parking
lot at Mazo
comes the gospel gauntlet.
|
This year marks the seventh year of
our efforts to end the outrage which has made Mazo Beach infamous and
reclaim that beautiful beach for the people of Wisconsin. Final victory
has not yet come; but with God’s help, the nudists have been thwarted in
their efforts to spread public nudity across Wisconsin. They may be
clinging to their beachhead, but unless they can move inland, their
perverse invasion will fail. Please pray that the Lord would raise up more
courageous, principled men and women in the Department of Natural
Resources. There are some such individuals who wear the DNR uniform. I
know because I have dealt with them. The problem is that they are either
too few or too limited in their authority or too quiet. By God’s grace,
let us determine not to be any of that ourselves. The Lord has given us
the authority—yea, the duty—to stand in His name against such demonic
outrages as the Mazo nude beach. We must determine not to be quiet or
absent from duty in the face of such wickedness. We will be returning to
Mazo Beach several more times this summer. If at all possible, please join
us. Back to top.

That Was Some Good Gospel Ministry.
On May 14, we spent the day in
Stoughton, Wisconsin, engaged in open-air gospel ministry at the Syttende
Mai (Norwegian Constitution Day) celebration. The Lord richly blessed our
efforts as we preached, held gospel banners, and handed out thousands of gospel
tracts. Along with the usual mocking and angry responses, we
received many encouraging remarks from people who were overjoyed to see
Christians in the streets proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.
 |
|
Preaching at Syttende Mai.
|
At any given time throughout the
day, various people with us were sharing the gospel at different locations
on Main Street in Stoughton, which was blocked off for the parade. For
instance, at one point, several of our number were street preaching at one
location while a number of others were spread out in other places handing
out tracts and witnessing one-on-one. At the same time, Mike Foht was
standing along the route of the Syttende Mai run with a sign reading,
“Christ can set you free.” As each group of runners approached him,
Mike would preach the gospel to them. In the end, many gospel tracts were
given out and many thousands of people heard the gospel message preached
to them and read it on our banners. Back

The
Changing of the Guard at the Vatican
As Pope John Paul approached death,
the Lord convicted me to write and publicly publish an article titled “When
This Pope Dies.” That article was widely circulated, posted
on a number of web sites, and published in the English Churchman
newspaper. I also felt convicted to do a sermon by the same title, which
can still be heard at pcc.sermonaudio.com.
We produced a number of “Heart
of the Matter” programs which dealt with the papacy and the
changing of the guard in Rome. After all that was done, I was strongly
convicted by the Spirit to also write a short (due to length restrictions)
letter
for publication in our local newspaper in Monroe. It was also submitted to
a number of other newspapers. In this ecumenical age, it is crucial that
pastors stand upon the Word of God against the deceptions and perversions
of that counterfeit “Christian” church headquartered in Rome. The
pope’s death was a crucial moment to do just that. Those few pastors and
Christian leaders who seized that moment to take a public stand for
Christ, His gospel, and His Church were only doing their job. Those who
remained silent at that moment failed the Lord and His people. Those who
praised the pope committed abominable sin. Back

|
Preaching
at the Star Wars Premier and Other Places
Members of Pilgrims Covenant
continue to engage in various open-air ministry. For instance, we have
preached and handed out gospel
tracts on Monroe’s square several times in the past weeks,
including in front of the movie theater at the premiere of the new Star
Wars film. For forty-five minutes, we had a captive crowd to preach to
as the sidewalk in front of the theater was packed with people waiting to
buy tickets for the movie.
 |
|
Preaching on the
square in Monroe.
|
Being in full-time street ministry
with PCC/WCU, Mike Foht has been able to join with brethren from other
areas to preach in the open air every week. Lately, he has been doing that
on State Street in Madison.
 |
|
Sharing gospel truth
with a young
woman in Planned Parenthood's yard.
|
Of course, we continue to weekly
picket, pass out tracts, and preach at the Monroe Planned Parenthood. The
Lord has blessed our 16-1/2 years of ministry there in many ways. For the
last several years, PP has only been open five hours per week in their
boasted “full-service health center.”
As I write this, we have a number of
public gospel ministries planned for this month alone, including handing
out tracts at a large Roman Catholic festival, preaching at the World
Honda Grand Prix Balloon Rally in Monroe, and sharing the gospel at a huge
annual public event in south-central Wisconsin.
“The
Heart of the Matter” program is continuing to encourage many
and also bring together many brethren from around the world. By the grace
of God, the same can be said for our SermonAudio.com
ministry. And that is the key thing—it is all by the grace of God. We
pray that it will always be for His glory and the good of His people as
well. Back to top.
