Sodom's Defeat: In Their Own Words
No joy in New Sodom. Fair Wisconsin has struck out.
A Response to ECT Light

November 30, 2006

Dear Friends,

I have included with this newsletter an analysis on the successful passage of the marriage amendment to our state constitution. It is my hope that there will now be a move to repeal Wisconsin's "hate crime" enhancement statutes which are so unconstitutional and which inevitably will be used as stepping stones to the passage of "hate speech" laws. A very good case can be made with the general public in favor of repealing the hate crime statutes. After those statutes are repealed and equal justice under the law has been restored, then the inclusion of "sexual orientation" in state non-discrimination statutes ought to be targeted for elimination. Once the two dominos mentioned fall, the push should be to criminalize homosexual acts, as they were prior to 1983. Any strategy that does not include the eventual restoration of proper law governing sexual crimes will, in the end, see the sodomites gaining every objective on their wish list, including hate speech laws and same-sex "marriage." That is my assessment of the situation.

But I am a pastor, not a politician. I believe my first responsibility is to feed the flock which Christ hath purchased with His own blood. Next, I believe I have a duty to earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints against growing ecumenical and doctrinal error while also taking the gospel into the world. With regard to contending for the faith, I have included an article I recently wrote. But fighting New Sodom is important to us at PCC because the sodomites have set themselves against the Lord's Church and the preaching of His Word. We are thankful that, while all of us of PCC are involved in that fight, we have Mike Foht to pound the pavement week in and week out, lit dropping our brochures on homosexuality.

Here is a summary of our ministry efforts from September 21 until November 30.

On October 7, we did a gospel witness at Oktoberfest in Monroe. This turned out to be a very small event, but we gave out a good number of gospel tracts and also fifty-four Gospels of John to individuals who expressed an interest in receiving one. We also displayed our large gospel signs.

As we have done for almost eighteen years since Planned Parenthood came to our town, we continue our weekly witness there, standing against baby murder and the perversion of the young, even as we preach the gospel to PP's "clients." On October 12, I had the extra blessing to also witness at length with two female Mormon missionaries who were going door-to-door in the area. I believe the Word of God did have a real impact on the younger of the two.

On October 21, we held a stuff-a-thon at our church. We prepared a mailing for 8,000 rural homes. Each home received our brochure What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality and also our marriage amendment flyer. This mailing was sent to Hayward, Monroe, and Wisconsin Rapids. In October, we also sent mailings to rural homes in Arcadia and Baldwin.

On November 4, three days before election day, we did a truth blitz in Wales and Mukwonago. In the first town, we split up and lit dropped homes in Wales and the surrounding area with our Bible tract along with our amendment flyer. We also did a witness at a busy intersection there, setting up gospel signs as well as signs containing messages on homosexuality and the marriage amendment. In Mukwonago, we set up the same signs and also handed out our literature to motorists. On election day, PCC did a similar witness at a busy intersection in Monroe.

On Friday, November 17, a small band of five from PCC gave out 1,800 gospel tracts at the WIAA boys' football championships in Madison. We also had a large gospel sign for the thousands of arriving young people to see. Due to a pressing commitment elsewhere, we were not able to spend as much time at the event as we normally do. It was hard to leave, but we left knowing a good gospel work had been done. Our only real incident at the championships took place when a Roman Catholic teacher got physical with one of our women as he attempted to stop her from handing out gospel tracts. After he mocked, shoved, and even grabbed the small lady, the Romanist repeatedly crossed himself!

Each year from late fall to early spring, several of us PCC members carry on a gospel campaign, lit dropping homes in Monroe and surrounding communities with gospel tracts. We have begun that campaign which is quite low-key but very effective.

With thanks for the support and prayers of many of you, I close with the grand total of towns where PCC distributed literature during this newsletter period. Thanks to all of you, we mailed, lit dropped, or handed out, or provided for others to hand out 45,000 tracts, including gospel tracts, our An Urgent Plea to Roman Catholics, and of course, our brochures on homosexuality, which include the gospel. This total does not include the marriage amendment flyers we gave out.

Homosexuality: The Truth or What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality were distributed door-to-door by PCC members in these areas: Argyle, Beloit, Blanchardville, Brookfield, Browntown, Campbellsport, Delafield, Eden, Fort Atkinson, Franklin, Hartland, Horicon, Iron Ridge, Janesville, Kenosha, La Farge, Madison, Marshall, Monroe, Mt. Horeb, New Glarus, New Holstein, New Lisbon, Oakfield, Pewaukee, Platteville, Prairie du Chien, Racine, Reedsburg, Verona, Viola, Wales, Waterford, and Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; and Dubuque, Iowa.

• PCC handed out What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality to students of Wauwatosa West High School and lit dropped our An Urgent Plea to Roman Catholics tracts in Dickeyville, Wisconsin, a very Catholic town.

• We handed out or lit dropped gospel tracts in Madison, Monroe, and Platteville; and in Green County rural areas.

• PCC provided our tracts on homosexuality for free to others who distributed them in the following towns: Appleton, Berlin, Butler, Cedarburg, Delafield, East Troy, Eau Claire, Fond du Lac, Grafton, Green Bay, Hustisford, Janesville, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Menomonie Falls, Mequon, Milwaukee, New London, Oshkosh, Osseo, Portage, Princeton, Ripon, Trenton, Waupaca, Wautoma, Wauwatosa, West Bend, Winneconne, and Wisconsin Rapids.

• PCC provided literature at cost for distribution in the following places: Brookfield, Hudson, and Viroqua, Wisconsin; Dubuque, Iowa; Crystal Lake, Illinois; Bloomington, Minnesota; Omaha, Nebraska; and Penns Grove, New Jersey; a college fair in Minneapolis, Minnesota; a mission trip to Iceland (1,000 gospel tracts); and the Anoka Halloween parade in Minnesota (An Urgent Plea to Roman Catholics).

Sodom's Defeat: In Their Own Words

Sodomite activist/writer Mike Fitzpatrick wrote the article from which the following excerpt is taken. Fitzpatrick, who has spent much time and ink sneering at me, gives a nice summary of why the sodomites were so confident they would defeat Wisconsin's marriage amendment. "He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision" (Psalm 2:4).

A Look Behind The Startling Defeat For Wisconsin Marriage Equality, Marriage Amendment Passes 59-41%

Madison—It had all the earmarks of success: $5 million in its war chest, thousands of volunteers, hundreds of prestigious supporting groups, 72 county coordinators, dozens of supportive broadcast and print media endorsements, a half-dozen attention-getting TV spots, nearly three years of preparation, the unprecedented coalition of the state's two most powerful gay activist groups and one of the most politically savvy campaign mangers [sic] available in the country: Mike Tate.

Yet only two hours after the polls closed November 7, it was painfully clear Fair Wisconsin's campaign to defeat the constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage and civil unions had not only lost, it had lost big. 59% to 41% big, a spread that was greater than even the most conservative political pundits in the state had predicted.

No joy in New Sodom. Fair Wisconsin has struck out.
A statement by Pastor Ralph Ovadal, Pilgrims Covenant Church

Since last spring, homosexuals, led by the organization Fair Wisconsin, and their allies have been crowing that Wisconsin would be the first state to defeat a marriage protection amendment. But in spite of receiving boatloads of cash from national sodomite groups; in spite of running an aggressive, shameless campaign of confusion and deception; in spite of having the support of most of the mainstream media; in spite of recruiting a rouge's gallery of apostate clergy willing to spew blasphemy from the rooftops, New Sodom has suffered a humiliating defeat.

Why did the heirs of Sodom lose?

1) Fair Wisconsin et al. treated the Lord as unholy, unclean, and lawless. "These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes" (Psalm 50:21). Homosexual strategy included juxtaposing Almighty God alongside their abominable cause which His Word makes clear He hates. The Fair Wisconsin web site included what can only be called exhortations, replete with Scriptures, which spoke of the sodomite side as being Spirit-filled and their cause as being a Holy Spirit birthed revival. Working against the amendment was said to be living out one's Christian faith, standing firm in the faith, and following Jesus. Those who fought against the amendment were walking in the footsteps of the Apostles and heroes of the faith, such as Martin Luther. Supporters were told that Jesus would work hard to get out the vote against the marriage amendment. Fair Wisconsin virtually dared the Lord to curse their cause.

2) A foundation was laid for this victory long before it occurred. For many years, PCC has been saturating the grassroots of Wisconsin with the uncompromised truth about homosexuality and, for the past several years, also the truth about the marriage amendment. Others, especially in recent years, have also played an important part in winning the hearts and minds of the people of Wisconsin. It is sheer folly to take a defensive posture when contending for life, liberty, and morality. Long years of uncompromised, offensive action are what laid the groundwork and prepared the way for the passage of the marriage amendment.

3) Arrogance and overconfidence cost the sodomites dearly. Homosexual whining, lying, and bullying—all of which reached a fever pitch in recent months—have grown old with many Wisconsin citizens. They are no longer buying the victim line; they do not appreciate being lied to; and they have had it with being told they are sick criminals (homophobic) simply because they believe some things are right and some things are wrong.

4) The marriage amendment was straightforward, well-written, and uncompromised. It bans not only so-called same-sex marriage but also look-alike civil unions. This is a repudiation of those who insisted that only a ban on ss marriage could pass and that it was important not to ban civil unions to ensure marriage itself would be protected.

How will this defeat affect New Sodom?

Sodomite strategists spent millions and tried every dirty trick in their playbook, but the people of Wisconsin have sided against them. The people have shrugged off the yoke of homosexual intimidation and shaming to hand New Sodom its first major political defeat in Wisconsin in over twenty-five years. The spell has been broken; the glass ceiling has been shattered; the people of Wisconsin have been liberated. They have stood up against the screaming midget that had them cowering in the corner, apologizing for heart-felt emotions ranging from unease to disgust in reaction to homosexual behavior. The vast majority of the people of Wisconsin who do not approve of homosexuality now realize they are the majority. They have awakened this morning feeling good about handing New Sodom a defeat, and they don't really care if liberal talk show hosts and sodomite strategists shrilly accuse them of being near relatives of Adolf Eichmann.

The sodomites must now feel a bit like a lion tamer whose lion just decided not to be any longer intimidated by a flimsy chair and a whip wielded by a weakling who is suddenly looking less like a master and more like a lunch. And matters within the city limits of New Sodom are bound to be a mess as well about now. From the start of the effort to force homosexual "marriage" on America, there have been many dissident voices within gaydom which condemned the strategy. Many felt it was too soon for such an effort; others felt it was the wrong place to spend so much time and money. Given the emotional and spiritual makeup of the homosexual community in Wisconsin and the massive defeat that community has suffered, it will now be torn apart by recriminations, depression, and internal bitterness. The homosexual juggernaut—or should we say panzer?—has been brought to a stop, at least momentarily. The forces of morality and law have made an Inchon landing. But it would be foolish, and dangerous, to sit on the beachhead savoring this victory. There is no better time to press the attack as when the enemy is confused and demoralized.

What now?

The passage of the marriage amendment should signal the beginning of more such offensive actions in the legislature. Many people in Wisconsin are disgusted, even furious, with the disgraceful, deceptive campaign tactics employed by the sodomites. During our public witness on behalf of the amendment, even many non-Christians expressed such emotions and opinions to us. The heart of New Sodom has been revealed; the heart of the Lord's people has been strengthened; the heartland of Wisconsin has spoken; and now the time is ripe to launch a well-done campaign to repeal Wisconsin's hate crime enhancement laws. Such laws are unconstitutional and nothing less than the precursor to hate speech laws, which would criminalize dissent from the homosexual party line, including preaching the biblical truth about homosexuality and eventually preaching the gospel itself. In closing, I urge state legislators who care about liberty and equal justice under the law to introduce legislation to repeal Wisconsin's hate crime statutes.

A Response to ECT Light
By Pastor Ralph Ovadal, Pilgrims Covenant Church, Monroe, Wisconsin

Today, Tuesday, November 28, a coalition of pro-family/pro-life leaders issued a press release in response to Pastor Rick Warren's decision to have U.S. Senator Barack Obama speak at the Global Summit on AIDS being hosted in Warren 's Saddleback Church. The very language of that document is a witness against those Protestants who have signed it. Certainly, Obama is pro-abortion; and of course, Warren, who is pro-Warren, deserves condemnation for adding this despicable action to his other despicable actions too numerous to mention in this short statement. No doubt, Warren treads underfoot the blood of the innocent preborn by promoting Obama and fellowshipping with him. He also mocks the Sixth Commandment.

However, the Protestant signers of the press release just mentioned and included below tread underfoot the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and mock the first, second, and third commandments along with the ninth and possibly the tenth in some cases. In shades of the infamous Evangelicals and Catholics Together, the signers announce "we join with one voice" in their defense of God's Word. And together "with one voice," the Catholic and Protestant signers, apparently evangelicals all, stress "the evangelical church" must be "firmly rooted in the Word of God." Certainly, the pope must be happy to see yet another vindication of the "separated brethren" strategy of Vatican II.

The signers of what can justly be called ECT Light include Catholic representatives of blatantly Roman Catholic organizations which openly and aggressively promote all manner of Romish idolatry and blasphemy. Included in that category are Judie Brown, Joe Scheidler, and Peggy Hamill. Phyllis Schlafly is just as Catholic but not as open about it. Among the many Protestant signers, there are those who openly define the pope and his religion as Christian, and then there are the much more subtle who include Roman Catholics in their ministry work but encourage those individuals to be low-key about their "doctrinal distinctives." And then there is VCY America, once flamingly ecumenical but now much more hypocritical. One can, at rare times, even hear a testimony from a former Catholic on VCY. Usually, that takes place after an open Catholic has been on, masquerading as a Christian; and thus there is a need to placate another segment of the VCY base.

These people are not ignorant of what they are doing. I have personally confronted a number of them, and others have been given my book More Than These which deals in-depth with the sin and folly of promoting the Roman Catholic Church through ecumenical ministry relationships.

As one who has also "stood uncompromisingly" against abortion, in fact, since the 1970s, I want to state "in the strongest possible terms" that I oppose the "violation of God's clear command" in 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 and elsewhere which has been committed by the Protestant signers of the statement below. I oppose their justifying of a religion which holds millions in spiritual bondage and darkness while mocking Jesus Christ and Him crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2). I challenge them to repent of their ongoing betrayal of the blood and righteousness of Christ. I challenge them to repent from desensitizing the world, the Roman Catholic people, and the body of Christ to the abominable, damnable errors of Romanism. As they have stood against abortion, I challenge them to stand as openly and uncompromisingly for the faith of the gospel (Philippians 1:27 ) against the greatest enemy of that faith the world has ever seen, the pope and his religion. And I challenge all followers of Jesus Christ to tell the signers of ECT Light, "You cannot fight one evil while justifying another" worse evil.

Rick Warren/Barack Obama AIDS Partnership Must End, Say Pro-Life Groups

Ingrid Schlueter, VCY America Radio Network, Milwaukee, 414-881-5852

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin, Nov. 28 /Christian Newswire/ -- As those who have worked to defend preborn children from the horrors of abortion in America and who have stood uncompromisingly against the legalized slaughter of an estimated 50 million Americans in the womb since 1973, we join with one voice in expressing our indignation and opposition to Rick Warren's welcoming of Senator Barack Obama to his church on December 1, 2006. Rick Warren is bringing Senator Obama to his church to speak for his Global Summit on AIDS and the church and to take an AIDS test in front of the cameras at a noon press conference.

Senator Obama comes to Rick Warren's church believing that abortion should be kept, "safe and legal". When Barack Obama campaigned for the U.S. Senate in 2004, his wife wrote a fundraising letter for him that revealed his support of partial-birth abortion. She said Obama's position is that the "partial-birth abortion ban . . . is clearly unconstitutional and must be overturned."  Support of partial-birth abortion goes a lot farther than the politicians who want abortion to be "safe and legal." Senator Obama actually supports the barbaric practice of allowing abortionists to kill babies by allowing them to be partially, born, their skulls punctured and their brains sucked out. Further, he repeatedly opposed an anti-infanticide bill in the state of Illinois that only passed after he left. Killing a child at any stage of life is a violation of God's clear command, "Thou Shall Do No Murder". In addition,Obama's solution to the growing AIDS crisis has been and continues to be the widespread distribution of condoms, not chaste behavior as directed by the Bible.

In the strongest possible terms, we oppose Rick Warren's decision to ignore Senator Obama's clear pro-death stance and invite him to Saddleback Church anyway. If Senator Obama cannot defend the most helpless citizens in our country, he has nothing to say to the AIDS crisis. You cannot fight one evil while justifying another. The evangelical church can provide no genuine help for those who suffer from AIDS if those involved do not first have their ethic of life firmly rooted in the Word of God.   Accordingly, we call on Pastor Rick Warren to rescind his invitation to Senator Obama immediately. The millions of silent victims who have died because of the policies of leaders like Senator Obama demand a response from those who believe that life is a gift from God. The name of the seminar at which Senator Obama will be appearing is entitled, " We Must Work Together." No, Mr. Warren, Mr. Obama, we will never work with those can support the murder of babies in the womb.
