Preaching
Conference
March 8, 2006
Dear Friends,
On Wednesday, February 22, I spoke at a rally
which took place at Grace Community Church in West Allis. The event was
held to show support for Attorney James Donohoo. Many of you are familiar
with this story, which is a graphic example of homo-fascism and is another
wake-up call to sleepy Christians. I have enclosed with this mailing a CD
copy of a recent "Heart of the Matter" program which features,
among other things, an interview
with Atty. Donohoo. I hope you will be able to listen to that
interview as it is a very compelling account of the sodomites' attack upon
Atty. Donohoo, and it certainly touches on some issues underlying that
attack. Please listen to the program and consider passing it on to someone
else. If you need a cassette copy instead, let me know; and it will be
sent to you.
As usual, when Christians are willing to
fight back, New Sodom's attack upon Jim Donohoo is gradually turning
around to their hurt. I firmly believe that the sodomites' actions are
revealing their hearts, not only to Christians but also to a general
public which is increasingly tiring of the heavy-handed ways and shrill
rhetoric of the sodomites. Things have changed in Wisconsin, and many
people are beginning to read between the lines of mainstream press
accounts. For our part, PCC is making full use of the attack to wake up
Christians to the dangerous agenda of Action Wisconsin and other
fully-owned subsidiaries of New Sodom. Of course, in a more general sense,
PCC continues to flood the state with information about homosexuality
which takes no reading between the lines to get the message!
While we are involved in many different
ministry efforts, our strong conviction is that the sodomite
propaganda/political/religious machine must be countered with truth at the
grassroots level. This is an especially important time to continue our
truth offensive on homosexuality now that the marriage amendment has
passed through the state legislature and is on its way to the voters this
fall. Currently, every tract on homosexuality which we distribute to
Wisconsin homes contains a flyer
on the amendment. As of the writing of this newsletter, we have
distributed 78,000 of those flyers, thanks to your help. The liberal media
will be acting as a mouthpiece for New Sodom. Our part will be to continue
our town-by-town, house-to-house offensive for the hearts and minds of the
people of Wisconsin. As you will see from our bimonthly report, we
continue to get the truth, including the gospel, to many thousands of
Wisconsinites every month. The contest with New Sodom at its heart is a
contest over the Bible, religious liberty, the safety of children, and the
moral climate of our state. We do not enjoy the constant, often obscene
threats which are hurled our way by the sodomites any more than we enjoy
the lies which they tell about us. But all of that is irrelevant when
compared to what is at stake in this contest. And so, by the grace of God
and with your help, we fight on.
Certainly Sodom's heirs are not the only
ones who take opportunity to lash out at PCC ministry efforts. The
defenders of the papacy and the Roman Catholic Church have been taking
their shots of late as well. For example, recently on WTMJ Talk Radio
(Milwaukee), host Charlie
Sykes went on a verbal rampage because of my preaching and
teaching on the pope and his church. In the short segment of the program
which I heard, Sykes made liberal use of words such as extremist, fringe,
bigot when speaking of me. To show how extreme my historic
Protestant position on Romanism is, he compared me to such groups as
NAMBLA and Louis Farrakhan's Nation of Islam. I am told the other portions
of the lengthy program were at least as bad and that Sykes compared me to
such groups as Al Qaeda.
The former hippie and past mayor of
Madison, leftist Paul
Soglin, has also rushed to the defense of the Vatican, spending
a considerable amount of time taking me to task for my "bigoted"
defense of the Word of God and Christ's true Church. All of this is just
fine with me as it raises an issue which must be raised and puts
ecumenical Christians on the spot. Not only that but also the people
attacking me keep posting links on their web sites to articles I have
written on the pope and the Catholic Church. If this is the price to be
paid for getting out the truth on "the man of sin" and the woman
who rides the beast, it is a small price indeed and certainly yielding
some great returns!
I hope you are able to read the
following summary of some of the public ministry of Pilgrims Covenant
Church in the last two months. Obviously, it is not our intent to share
every jot and tittle of our work but simply to summarize some of the
things which we hope will encourage you.

Brodhead
Witness
On January 14, PCC was in Brodhead,
Wisconsin to lit drop the town with gospel
tracts. Afterward, we set up sign and banner witnesses at three
locations in town. One witness dealt with homosexuality while the other
two were done with gospel signs. At one of the gospel witnesses, two
teenage Christian girls stopped and asked us a number of questions. They
then joined us for a time and witnessed to pedestrians, including some of
their peers. Next the young ladies asked if they could have some of our
gospel tracts to hand out. After we parted company, we saw them walking
down the street and handing out the tracts. When the girls saw us drive
by, they waved with happy smiles.
How sad it is that the leaders of so
many churches refuse to take the gospel to the world. They not only shirk
their God-given responsibility in this and deprive the lost of the gospel,
but they also stand in the way of their own congregations growing in grace
and holiness through public gospel witness. Back

The
Mail Campaign Continues
PCC sent out a bulk mailing to 3,012
Oskhosh rural homes in January. In February, 2,029 rural homes around
Stevens Point received a mailing from us. Each envelope mailed contained a
flyer
on the proposed marriage amendment to our Wisconsin
constitution. Also included were the brochures Homosexuality:
The Truth and What
the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality. Since we do much
literature dropping in southern Wisconsin with that flyer and those
brochures, we have from time to time resorted to rural route mailings to
reach areas we might not otherwise reach with the same material. This
effort is a critical one at a critical time. Back

A
Principal with No Principles and Some Churches with No Gospel

Good morning, students.
Two members of the PCC team which ministered in Lake Mills. |
On February 14, PCC returned to the town
of Lake Mills. In January, PCC's Mike Foht had handed out our brochure Homosexuality:
The Truth to Lake Mills High School students. This prompted
the LMHS principal to write me a letter
boasting of that school's support of homosexual acts and warning our
church to stay away from LMHS or we would be arrested. On the morning of
the fourteenth, all students arriving at the school by foot, car, bus, or
bike were greeted with our large gospel signs along with the message
"Homosexuality is a sin." We also handed out the tract What
the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality. The police who
arrived on the scene were very polite and gave us no trouble at all. The
principal did not show his face; several teachers showed contempt; a
number of parents showed support while a number of young people showed
their hearts by screaming filthy obscenities at us.
After the school witness, we literature
dropped Lake Mills homes with copies of the principal's letter along with
our Truth brochures. Next, we set up a sign and banner witness at a
busy intersection. We made ample use of gospel signs and also had a
biblical message about homosexuality. Motorists were much more for us than
against us. In fact, some truck drivers and working men in company trucks
were wildly enthusiastic in their support. We also were the target of the
usual gestures and obscene remarks from some of Sodom's apologists.
The day of our Lake Mills ministry, I
received a call from the pastor of a local community church. The man
stated that he agreed with our message and then proceeded to take me to
task for our "aggressive way" of sharing it, telling me that his
church believes in "infiltrating" society rather than publicly
sharing the Word of God. According to the pastor, our open-air witness had
done untold damage to the cause of Christ and the local churches. I also
received an e-mail letter from a local evangelical church elder who
insisted that I am guilty of "turning young people off" and away
from Christ. Elder Steve further accused me of being a Judas against our
Lord. I have enclosed a copy of his
letter and my response. Elder Steve is the inspiration for a
sermon I preached, "No
Cross. No Gospel. No Love." The message can be heard at pcc.sermonaudio.com.
Subsequent to our visit to their town, the Lake Mills Ministerial
Association published a formal statement in the local newspaper condemning
our witness.

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of
Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that
believeth" (Romans 1:16). Two of our number greet wrestling
fans in Madison. |
At the other end of the spectrum, I
received a wonderfully encouraging letter
from a Lake Mills fundamentalist pastor who closed with this comment:
"Your visit to our town in my mind has served some very important
purposes: exposing to our community the true policy of the local schools
on homosexuality and exposing the position on homosexuality of most of the
churches in our community, both of which are secondary to the fact that
there was a powerful witness for the gospel shared with our community. May
God bless your efforts." It is clear that God blessed our ministry in
Lake Mills as the gospel was proclaimed and many hearts were revealed. Back

"And how shall they hear without a
preacher?" (Romans 10:14). Mike Foht preaches to a captive
audience waiting for the doors to open. |
We
Wrestle Not against Flesh and Blood
On February 25, PCC was joined by some
of our friends for a gospel witness to the teeming crowds who attended the
WIAA boys wrestling championships in Madison. Altogether, we handed out
about 3,500 gospel
tracts while some of our number preached. We displayed multiple
gospel signs and a gospel banner, ministering from 3:45 to 6:15 PM. The
event actually began at 6:00 PM.

|
"We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the
name of our God we will set up our banners" (Psalm 20:5). |
For some reason, the doors to the Kohl
Center, where the championships were being held, did not open until a
short time before the wrestling began. Consequently, thousands upon
thousands of wrestling fans piled up in front of the doors and down the
long, broad sidewalks leading up to the center. What a perfect opportunity
we had to minister to the crowd, which included a great number of young
people. As they stood waiting to be given admission to the Kohl Center,
some wrestling fans could be heard reading out loud Scripture signs; and
of course, they also heard the gospel preached as well. May the Lord save
many souls through that glorious time of ministry and turn many young
people away from committing sin which they will eventually regret. Back

Saturday
Gospel Witness
Over the years, we have conducted many
different ministry efforts in Monroe, the home of Pilgrims Covenant
Church. We try to be on-hand at various public events to hold gospel
banners, preach, and hand out gospel tracts. We also have done much lit
dropping with gospel tracts, pro-life literature, and brochures on
homosexuality. We continue to man our post at Planned Parenthood of Monroe
the one afternoon per week that it is open. Currently, we have been
setting up a gospel witness at a busy intersection on Saturdays. We use
the large Trinitarian
Bible Society (TBS) Scripture signs which we also use at
Planned Parenthood. The world needs to see and hear the Word of God
proclaimed by the Church of God. Our confidence for the salvation of souls
and the restraining of evil is in the Word of God and the work of the Holy
Spirit. This ministry gives people in PCC another way to share and endorse
that gospel publicly. It is our hope to have a PCC team on the street
somewhere in Monroe every week with the TBS signs and tracts. If some of
you would be interested in doing a similar ministry in your hometown and
need the address of TBS, let me know. Back

An
Anniversary Planned Parenthood Would Like to Forget
"For every one that
doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh
to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved." —John 3:20
|

This January marked our seventeenth year
of reproving the deeds of Planned Parenthood of Monroe. PPM is now open
only one day per week for five hours. Pilgrims Covenant Church ministers
at Planned Parenthood every week on that day. The young PP clients,
primarily girls, drive into a parking lot in the back of PP. At the
entrance of the parking lot, they are confronted with gospel messages and
offered tracts. On the way out, they are met with more of the same plus a
large picture of an unborn child. In between, they have the Word of God
preached to them from the minute they leave their cars for the long walk
along the side of PP to the building's front entrance. When they open the
door to exit, the lost young people are immediately met with more gospel
preaching. Along the busy street at the front of Planned Parenthood, we
witness to passing motorists of that tax-funded organization's deeds of
darkness and at the same time share the gospel. The signs pictured here
are two-sided so that motorists in both lanes of traffic view our message,
which does vary from time to time. We are confident that through our
signs, preaching, and tracts, the Lord has saved many lives and souls. Back
