New Sodom Starts the Year by
Losing Big in Green County

Wisconsin Christians United started 2001 with a big
battle in our home base of Green County. In a story which went nationwide,
due in large part to WCU's efforts, a rural Brooklyn man, Dary Byczek, was
put on trial at the behest of the "LGBT" community. After
growing weary of bearing such outrages as having his children witness
lesbian neighbors fondle each other in their garden, Dary put up a sign
which condemned homosexual acts. What followed was a serious of events in
which New Sodom set Dary up to put him away from his family for a long
time and to intimidate all who stand opposed to Sodom's agenda. This was
accomplished through bait and switch legal tactics and the imposition of a
court injunction which was almost impossible for Dary not to violate.
Things came to a head on January 12 when Dary came to trial charged with
state disorderly conduct and trespass, both with hate crime enhancers
attached. Dary was also charged with repeated violations of the
injunction. Prior to and during the trial, WCU worked hard to get
publicity on the case and get the truth out about it and the evil of hate
crime laws. We also did a lit drop in Monroe which we heard afterward had
made an impact on at least one juror. During jury selection for the trial,
WCU held a press conference followed by a rally on the courthouse lawn.
The hymns sung during the rally were clearly heard in the courtroom by the
judge and all members of the jury. A number of sodomites attended the
trial, including a University of Wisconsin faculty member who is also a
member the Man Boy Love Association. This man left a file full of
homosexual pornography under his chair which Pastor Ovadal picked up and
turned over to the sheriff's department. When the dust settled, Dary
Byczek was cleared of all charges except one disorderly conduct, and the
jury refused to attach the hate crime enhancer to that lone conviction!
Thus, Sodom's hopes were crushed, and the first hate crime charge in Green
County was a complete disaster.
"But ye, brethren, be not weary in
well-doing."

Confronting Evildoers in High Places
w In February, WCU
followed Congresslesbian Tammy Baldwin on a tour of her district.
Salvation tracts and info on homosexuality were handed out at each stop of
the day-long tour. The gospel was preached. WCU ministered at several
other T.B. appearances during the year. In addition, during a
"chance" meeting in a Milwaukee airport, WCU's Mike Foht was
able to call Tammy to repentance.
w In March, sodomite Rep.
Mark Pocan asked the Capitol Police to investigate what he said was a
"threat" by Pastor Ovadal against his life! The allegation was
based on a WCU newsletter in which Pastor encouraged readers to pray that
Pocan would repent and give his live to Jesus or that God "would
remove him from the scene." The police brushed off Pocan's request,
and he ended up looking like a fool in media coverage.

w WCU picketed, passed
out literature, and preached during a governor's prayer breakfast in
Milwaukee in May. Our message was a call for Governor Scott McCallum to
close down the nudity at Mazo beach. By the grace of God, Pastor Ovadal
was able to preach to the governor as he arrived. Later in the day,
another Christian confronted McCallum as he came
out of an appearance at a bank!

w In September, Pastor
Ovadal was blessed to join some Christian brothers in Rockford, Illinois
to preach the gospel outside of a speaking engagement of the world famous,
pro-homosexual wolf Episcopalian Bishop John Spong.

WCU hit the beach (actually the parking lot and
mile-long walk leading to the beach) ten times from May 28 to September
22. We used a number of innovative tactics and, judging from DNR documents
obtained by freedom of information searches, had a profound impact on the
Department of Natural Resources, not to mention the nudists and the
public. WCU activities caused many to hear the gospel of Christ even as
evil was soundly reproved. Most importantly, a number of children being
taken to the beach heard about the love of Jesus.

whether they will forbear."

In February, the DNR
announced it had plans to force WCU to obtain a permit before engaging in
ministry work on land owned by the DNR. WCU responded by threatening a
federal lawsuit, and the DNR backed down. Pastor Ovadal was charged with
state disorderly conduct for preaching the gospel to a lewd woman on the
Mazo beach parking lot. The trial is February 1. Late in 2001, WCU kicked
off what will be a series of picketing and lit dropping visits to the
neighborhoods of DNR officials. DNR Secretary Darrell Bazzell and South
Central Regional Director Ruthe Badger were the first officials visited. Back

w WCU poured a massive
amount of literature into Wisconsin in 2001 by weekly literature drops and
by special one and two-day blitzes.
w WCU had a very fruitful
two days of ministry in LaCrosse at the first ever "Pride Along the
Mississippi" sodomfest. At one prophetic picket, a WCU Christian
ended up praying with two young men who happened by.

w WCU had an effective
ministry outside the National Gay Lesbian Task Force convention in
Milwaukee. WCU also helped pay to bring in a seasoned undercover operative
to infiltrate the convention. She brought out reams of documents which
will be used, and which have already been used, to help tear the kind,
gentle, "just want to be left alone" facade off of the fascist
machine which America's New Sodom has become.
w WCU provided much
literature for people to distribute in other states and in the nation of
Canada.

"New Year's 2002 arrives in a couple
weeks, however, and we need to look at how Wisconsin's LGBT citizens have
fared . . . Unfortunately, in an area where Wisconsin used to be a
national leader, it can barely even be considered a follower today. . . .
Since 1982, Wisconsin's first-in-the-nation status looks less and less
relevant."

Pocan v. the Church of Jesus Christ
In anticipation of Rep. Mark Pocan's promise to
introduce legislation to grant sodomite coupling the same legal status as
marriage and to grant health benefits to the partners of sodomite state
workers, WCU has initiated a phone call, letter writing, e-mail, and
postcard campaign to state representatives and senators. As of the end of
December, 8,000 sets of postcards had been given to Christians wanting to
join in the effort, which will continue at least through January. Back

WCU Sponsored Street Preaching Tour
WCU sponsored a street preaching tour by veteran street
preacher Gerald Sutek. The month-long ministry exposed many more thousands
to the gospel of Christ. Street preaching and evangelizing is going on
around Wisconsin every week! Back to

Speaking Engagements
Pastor Ovadal spoke several times in San Diego in
January, also at a conference in Milwaukee,
and at a WCU rally in Milwaukee along with Peter LaBarbera. Back

Witnessing on the Airwaves
Pastor Ovadal did numerous interviews on radio and
television and with the print media, including newspapers and several
magazines. Back to top.
