Beginning at 1:00 P.M. today, Wisconsin Christian
United will conduct ministry on the parking lot and mile-long walkway
leading to the Midwest's only tax-funded nude beach on the Wisconsin River
near Mazomanie, Wisconsin. A large turnout of Christians is expected for
what promises to be a very interesting time of ministry. As they exit
their cars, "naturists" will be met by evangelists. To access
the beach, the soon-to-be-naked will have to walk a long gospel gauntlet
of Christians preaching and handing out gospel tracts as well as holding
signs, flags, and banners. A team of preachers will also be at the edge of
the beach to loudly preach the Word of God to the nudists from behind a
screen of trees which will block the view of the beach but not interfere
with the preaching. Today's WCU ministry at the Department of Natural
Resources nude beach takes place on the first day of the DNR's special
fall deer hunt. The hunt is part of the DNR's effort to kill some 25,000
deer in an area of the state including Mazo Beach in hope of containing
the Chronic Wasting Disease which has been discovered in Wisconsin deer in
that area.
Since WCU began its campaign against the nudity and
open lewdness of Mazo Beach, the attendance at the beach on an average
weekend summer day has dropped from about 1,000 to several hundred. The
gradual spread of public nudity up and down river from the beach has also
halted. While the beach clientele once included many teenagers and young
adults of both sexes, the vast majority of beachgoers are now older
persons and homosexual men. Due to WCU's persistent ministry at Mazo
Beach, thousands of individuals have heard the gospel. Thankfully, when
confronted by WCU Christians with God's Word, a number of beachgoers have
confessed remorse over their actions, taken gospel tracts, and left
without ever going to the beach itself! Also, while it was once common for
children to be taken to Mazo Beach, very few are now seen being taken
there. In the past when children have been brought to the beach, WCU
Christians have formed a human blockade across the path to the beach and
protected the children.
"DNR officials and other state officials
would like the public to believe that WCU is the problem at Mazo Beach.
The reality is that the problem is the State's almost insane commitment to
public tax-funded nudity. We are the ones who offer solutions. The
solution to the State's expensive, dangerous situation at Mazo Beach is
simple: Tell the nudists to put their clothes on. To the nudists, we offer
the solution to their problem: Repent of your sins, believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and be saved!"
