Today, August 6th, at 10:00 AM, Pastor
Ralph Ovadal will appear before the Judicial Court Commissioner of Dane
County in Room 2B of the County Courthouse in Madison. The Department of
Natural Resources has convinced the Dane County District Attorney to
charge Pastor with state disorderly conduct - a crime which carries a
penalty of up to ninety days in jail and a $1,000 fine. The charge stems
from a May 28th incident in which Pastor Ovadal preached a message to DNR
wardens and a woman headed for the public nude beach near Mazomanie. The
event took place on the beach parking lot, which is state-owned and open
to the public not only to park but also to protest. The woman was doing a
lewd dance and speaking obscenely to several young Christian men prior to
Pastor Ovadal's short message, which he preached from a distance of twenty
feet from the woman. The woman is on video tape speaking and acting lewdly
toward Christian men in the past, during the incident for which Pastor has
been charged, and also several weeks after that incident.
Since the May 28th incident, Christians with WCU have been
physically assaulted three times by nudists. Although these incidents are
documented on video tape, no charges have been filed. Nudists are also
constantly and promiscuously directing truly obscene language at the same
Christians; but DNR officials have declined to take action against such
obvious disorderly conduct stating, "We don't choose to interpret the
law that way." Worst of all, the DNR has refused to stop nudists from
bringing children to the Mazo beach. Last winter, the DNR aborted an
attempt to require Pastor Ovadal to apply for a license before practicing
free speech on the Mazo parking area. Now they are charging him with a
crime for doing so. The text of Pastor Ovadal's message for which he has
been charged criminally can be found below.
"In light of what this woman had done, was doing, and was
about to do, my preaching was entirely appropriate and exactly what was
needed. Simply put, it was time, place, and content appropriate as well as
being constitutionally protected. As a preacher of the gospel, I told my
accuser what she needed to hear for her own good. The Scriptures tell us
that it is only through godly sorrow that repentance occurs which leads to
salvation through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 7:10). Beyond that, when
people publicly `show their sin as Sodom' (Isaiah 3:9), ministers of God
are called to strongly rebuke them for the sake of the weak and vulnerable
and, most importantly, out of love for the Lord. I would respectfully
request those fellow Christians who think I was too harsh to not only
study the Scriptures but to also study how great street preachers of the
past handled such situations and to also remember the individuals this
woman has victimized by her insatiable urge to expose herself in public.
There are times for soft answers, and there are times for strong rebukes.

Bold italicized remarks were made to DNR wardens standing nearby who were
telling Pastor that he could not use the word whore and
threatening him with arrest.
"Ma'am, you're acting like a whore. I have a right to say
you are acting like a harlot. A Jezebel, ma'am, a whore,
ma'am. Why don't your repent, ma'am? Give your life to Jesus Christ. You
are acting like a Jezebel. You need to repent. What kind of woman goes to
the beach and strips naked in front of men? A whore, that's what. Women
who act like whores, who behave like whores, ought to be called whores.
You need to repent. You have no--no respect or honor. You're acting like a
barnyard animal. Anyone can act like a barnyard animal. That's what you're
acting like. You're acting like--I used to be a farmer; we used to see the
heifers in heat--that's what you're acting like. You ought to act like a
godly woman. Give your life to Christ. You ought to be ashamed. She's
not ashamed. See, she's proud. Look at her face. She's going to go corrupt
those young men. Jezebel and a whore. W-H-O-R-E. You are
acting like a whore. Whore, whore, whore. Yes, I said it
again. WHORE. Whore is what you are acting like. You need to
repent. How many young men are corrupted by whores that act
like this? How many? How many children are destroyed? How many young boys
get their start on the path of slavery because of this sort of woman who
acts like a whore? Are you a whore? The question remains. If
you act like a whore, then you are one. We're asking you, are you a whore?
Well, if you're going to a nude beach, you're answering our question for
us. Don't act like a whore, ma'am. Give your life to Jesus Christ, and
He'll make you a new creature. He'll give you a fresh start; He'll clean
you up. He'll help you; He'll do a godly work in your life. You won't have
to be ashamed of yourself. Listen to your conscious, ma'am. You need to
start over. [Here she complained that Pastor's preaching was scaring her
dogs.] Oh, your dogs. You're scaring us because of what you're doing to
the children. You need to repent. You need to repent, lady. Why
don't you tell her that she's acting like a whore. Why don't you be a real
man? Do you care about the little children? Do you care about the young
men? How many young men will be corrupted by the likes of this?
I'm not worried about your dumb dog. You're acting like one. The Bible
says outside--the Bible says there's a city of life; and outside are the
dogs, it says, the whores, the murderers, the liars, and drunkards. You
fall into one of those categories, ma'am. Outside the gate are the whores,
the drunkards, the liars, and, yes, the dogs, the people that act like
dogs. All the poor young men that will be caught up in the
woman's trap. Their minds destroyed, their bodies used up."
