Today, February 13, a lawsuit funded by
Wisconsin Christians United will be filed in Dane County Circuit Court.
The suit names as defendants the State of Wisconsin and the Department of
Natural Resources. The plaintiffs are Harvey and Ruth Bender, owners of a
canoe rental service which has been severely injured by the DNR's refusal
to end the nudity on Mazo beach. The Benders' business is directly across
the river from the beach.
Last June 5, Attorney Donohoo gave the defendants notice that the
suit would be filed unless they moved to put an end to the nudity on the
DNR's Wisconsin River beach near Mazomanie, Wisconsin. After giving the
DNR and the State of Wisconsin far more than the requisite 120 days to
provide remedy for the complaint, Attorney Donohoo will now file a summons
and complaint today and the lawsuit will go forward.
Attorney Donohoo and Pastor Ralph Ovadal will be present at the
main entrance in front of the City County Building at 210 Martin Luther
King Jr. Blvd. in Madison at 10:00 AM today to answer any questions from
the press, after which Attorney Donohoo will file the lawsuit.
"It is time that the State of Wisconsin and the
Department of Natural Resources quit pimping for a sexually perverse elite
who like to cavort naked on tax-funded property in full view of little
children. It is simply astounding that we are apparently now going to
witness the spectacle of high-priced lawyers from the State of Wisconsin
Department of Justice doing battle in court on behalf of a bunch of sexual
anarchists, many from out of state. I call upon Governor Scott McCallum
and DNR Secretary Darrell Bazzell to protect the children of our state and
the taxpayers by putting an end to the madness at Mazo."
