In Case Anyone Was
Wondering . . .
|
Today, Saturday, June 12, Wisconsin Christians United
will be back at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources nude beach,
which is on the Wisconsin River near the town of Mazomanie. As usual, we
will be witnessing and passing out gospel tracts to beachgoers as well as
preaching and holding signs with biblical messages. As usual, we will also
be on the parking lot and the mile-long gravel walk to that beach, not on
the beach itself where the nudity takes place.
In the spring of 1999, the tax-funded travesty known as Mazo Beach was
brought to our attention; and we have been working to put an end to it
ever since. Perhaps one day, someone in the mainstream media will actually
decide to do some investigating and report the true story behind the
unlawful nudity at Mazo Beach, including how it was birthed, why it
continues, what dangers it holds, and what crimes it has spawned. They
could begin their investigation by checking www.wcuweb.com/Documents/MAZOPAGE/@mazopage.htm.
Regardless of the media's response to the public being forced to fund an
open-air strip joint with no age limit, WCU will continue to work against
that abominable situation. Since March, our office has received e-mails
from Mazo nudists telling us to stay away from "their" beach.
Today, we deliver our response in-person to those e-mail messages. No
doubt, as usual, we will once again be the target of threats and obscene
language from the Mazo beachgoers. But such is to be expected when DNR law
enforcement maintains an "anything goes" rule for their naked
friends. Apparently, they have come to feel a certain closeness toward the
Mazo bathers after years of watching over their naked romps.
"No doubt the DNR and their partners-in-crime from Mazo Beach have
been wondering if Wisconsin Christians United has grown tired of standing
against the lewdness of Mazo Beach, even as we share the gospel with those
committing it. Today will end that speculation. The Word of God exhorts us
to 'be not weary in well doing' (2 Thessalonians 3:13). Though we may
sometimes grow weary in the Lord's work, by God's grace, we never grow
weary of it."
