Wisconsin Christians United will be out in numbers,
protesting, picketing, preaching, and handing out salvation tracts on the
Mazo Beach parking lot and mile-long gravel walk way to the well-known,
tax-funded nude beach.
In recent weeks, the revelations of private
nude youth camps in Virginia has rightfully set off an uproar in that
state. Meanwhile, here in Wisconsin, nudists have completely taken over
one of the most beautiful public beaches in the
country. By their public nudity and well-documented lewdness, they have
chased off decent families. Children are regularly taken to Mazo Beach and
displayed naked in the midst of hundreds of adults from all around the
nation. While Wisconsin has laws against persons under eighteen being
allowed entrance to 'adult entertainment' establishments, including strip
clubs, young people of any age have but to hike down the gravel path or
drift by the beach in a boat or canoe to take in the very 'entertainment'
from which the state government is required to protect them.
By way of experiment, this year, WCU purposely held off
from doing ministry work at Mazo Beach until now, July 26. After four
years of our picketing, protesting, and preaching at Mazo Beach, nudists
numbers had fallen off exponentially; but the DNR was boasting that they
had "taken steps" to cut down on the crowds at Mazo Beach and
get the situation under control. Our little experiment has put the lie to
the DNR's story line. A recent survey by WCU of the number of cars at Mazo
Beach found the parking lot once more jammed and a large number of cars
parked on the nearby country road! The truth is, the Department of Natural
Resources wants to have its cake and eat it too. DNR management wants to
pander to the perverts but, at the same time, feign concern for children
and public safety.
"Once again, we call upon DNR officials to
protect children, respect taxpayers, uphold the law, and guard public
safety by telling the nudists at Mazo Beach to put their swimsuits on. It
would seem a small thing to ask; but for years, this simple request has
fallen on deaf ears. Based on our investigations, the continued, unlawful,
public nudity at Mazo Beach could be due to political intrigue, greed,
conflict of interest, inappropriate relationships, or just good
old-fashioned lust on the part of DNR officials. More than likely, it is a
mix of all of the above. 'Who being past feeling have given themselves
over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness'
(Ephesians 4:19). For now, we are holding the line on public nudity at
Mazo Beach. With God's help, we have bottled up the nudists on one
beachhead here in Wisconsin. Today, we will once more man the ramparts at
Mazo, even as we pray that one day soon justice will prevail in this
horrific situation. We do take great comfort in knowing that through our
presence, hundreds of beach goers will hear both God's law and His grace
preached to them today."

A Short Report on the
July 26th Witness at Mazo by Pastor Ralph Ovadal
We had a very worthwhile time of ministry at Mazo
Beach this past Saturday. Nudist numbers were down, but we still had
plenty to whom we preached and witnessed. The highlight of the day came
right as we were about to wrap things up. A woman with two little girls,
around four and six years old, drove into the parking lot. She was a vile
woman determined to take her children to the beach, and the DNR wardens on
hand were prepared to escort her there. In our next newsletter, I will
give all the details; but suffice it to say that after a very tense time
of rather vocal ministry, the woman left with the two little girls!
