A large contingent with Wisconsin
Christians United will be present on the public sidewalk to confront
Governor Scott McCallum as he and others arrive for a prayer breakfast at
the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee tomorrow morning. The breakfast
begins at 7:30 AM. WCU will be present at 7:00 AM to hold signs, street
preach, and hand out flyers telling the truth about Mazo beach, a
tax-funded beach where nudity is being permitted.
"We have written, e-mailed, and called Governor McCallum about
the nudity at Mazo beach and been given the same pathetic excuses which
former Governor Thompson offered. Tomorrow we hope to confront Governor
McCallum to his face and certainly educate the people with whom he will be
praying. As the chief executive of this state, he has the power to order
the appropriate agencies to enforce existing laws against public nudity.
He also obviously has the power to order the Department of Natural
Resources, which maintains and patrols the beach, to either ban nudity or
shut the beach down. If Scott McCallum cares at all about children; public
morality; and, most importantly, God's law, then he should take the
necessary steps to end the nudity at Mazo beach. If he does not do so by
the end of this month, WCU will begin weekly ministry events on the beach
road and parking lot. It will be interesting to see just how much the
state will be willing to spend to pander to perversion."
