Over the years, Ralph Ovadal, WCU, and Pilgrims
Covenant Church have
received hundreds of threats in person, by phone, and through the mail. We
have not kept a record of the phone threats, which seem to be the most
violent of all by far. Threats received through the mail have sometimes
included disgusting objects or material such as cat manure or a used
condom. The following excerpts are just a few of the many threats received
by PCC, WCU, or the Ovadal family. The worst threats have been
turned over to police authorities and are not available for publication.
-You people make the Nazis look like loving, compassionate, caring human
beings. And pastor Ralph Ovadal, what a sad excuse for a human being you
are. You say you have been knocked unconscious, been stun gunned, spit on,
had things thrown at you and been threatened hundreds of times. I hope one
of those threats comes true very soon as the world does NOT need people
like you. There is no reason why you should be allowed to live in it. None
at all! You breed hate. May you be kidnaped, raped, murdered and then put
into a barrel of sulfuric acid. Hopefully soon. Merry Christmas.

and religions? So fanatical. Beliefs that have survived for hundreds of
years and held by both the common man and brilliant theologians. If
following your preaching will make me spiteful, hateful and intolerant
like you - than No Thanks! No one who "spits" such venom
can enter heaven - nor can anyone who condemns someone to hell - as you

should be aware that some obvious half-brained idiot is using your title,
good name, and influence as a pastor to try to spread this tripe. I know
that as a man of God and a person who calls himself Christian you would
want to take the opportunity to denounce this garbage. I know that your
Christian upbringing must have, like mine, led to the belief in the innate
goodness of all people. I find it completely stunning that in the year
2000 any person could truly believe that an ordained man of God would be
responsible for the words in the attached article, I know that I don't. I
am including, by this mailing, the example of sickening repulsion that was
left soiling my front door.
