The Charismatic

The Passion
By Pastor Ralph Ovadal, February 23, 2004

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good."
1 Thessalonians 5:21

Dear Friends,

Christian leaders, talk show hosts, and pastors are deceiving the Body of Christ when they praise and promote The Passion of the Christ. This movie is nothing less than a huge ecumenical coup for the Roman Catholic Church. It is a massive propaganda victory for Roman Catholic heresy. Yesterday, I preached against the movie. Today, I am learning even more startling facts about it. Listen to my sermon at pcc.sermonaudio.com. The message is titled "An Ungodly Passion for The Passion."

The Passion of the Christ movie is revealing the hearts of many. Will you go with the flow or stand on the Word of God? Will you let high-profile preachers and talk show hosts lead you by the nose away from your Savior and toward Rome, or will you contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints? Do not be swayed by smooth words from the likes of Vic Eliason, James Dobson, or Jerry Falwell. Stand on the Word of God no matter how many array themselves against you. Mel Gibson's movie savages the Word of God for the benefit of an accursed church with an accursed gospel. Yes, that is a big deal! We are at yet another turning point in the history of the Church. Those who take a stand for that Romanist propaganda film will grow that much colder toward the truth and be that much more susceptible to the enemy's lies. Count on it. "And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it" (Matthew 7:27).

I call upon all those pastors and Christian leaders who have seen The Passion of the Christ and then promoted it as a Christian film to repent and tell the truth. Tell the truth for the sake of the gospel, for the good of the Body of Christ, out of concern for the lost, and for the glory of God.
