Dear UK Brethren,
Well, the Manhattan Declaration mania, and
corruption, has now come to your shores completely undisguised. I say
"undisguised" because the MD corruption has already seeped into
your nation in the form of MD evangelical signer Wayne Grudem who is
scheduled to speak at a number of upcoming Christian Institute events.
But, the Westminster 2010 is an unmasked, frontal assault upon the purity
of Christ's church and gospel in the UK. We will pray there will
be many UK ministers who will not only stand openly against this document,
and movement, but also against those individual evangelical ministers and
leaders who sign it. Quite frankly, if such a two-fold stand is
taken by a good number of UK shepherds, the ministers of the USA will have
been put to shame, as much as it hurts me to say that! Very few ministers
in my country have spoken publicly against the MD, and, of those who have,
far fewer are willing to separate from MD evangelical signers in obedience
to the Word of God.
Now our eyes are turned on the United
Kingdom. We pray the Lord will raise up evangelical champions
who will unsheathe the sword of the Spirit and wield it against the
Westminster 2010.
Sincerely,
Ralph Ovadal

Westminster 2010:
Declaration of Christian Conscience
Westminster 2010 is a
declaration aimed to appeal to UK Christians of all denominations who
subscribe to the historic Christian faith and who hold orthodox Christian
beliefs about life, marriage and conscience.
It was initially inspired by the 'Manhattan
Declaration', which was launched in November 2009 and
has now been signed by over 400,000 US Christians. Westminster
2010, however, is a completely independent initiative by UK
Christians focused on UK issues.
We are launching it in the lead up to the general election (expected on
6 May 2010) with individual Christians being invited to sign.
We call upon all parliamentary candidates to pledge that they will
‘respect, uphold and protect the right of Christians to hold and express
Christian beliefs and act according to Christian conscience’.
