The sodomite headhunters are
on the loose in Alabama. Notice that one of their goals is to
"address hate speech." Also interesting is that the Soulforce
wolves who are after Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore claim that government
officials in that state have a "special responsibility to protect the
constitutional freedoms and welfare" of sodomites when sodomy is a
crime in Alabama! Please pray for Judge Roy Moore. He is a Christian man
of courage whom God has raised up at a critical moment in our nation's
history.

Soulforce Alabama, a statewide licensed local group of Soulforce, Inc.
will be holding a press briefing February 19, 2003 to discuss their
campaign to address hate speech and crimes against lesbians and gay men in
Alabama. This campaign is being launched after a year of attempting to
open a private dialogue with Chief Justice Roy Moore regarding his blanket
condemnation of all homosexuals as an 'inherent evil.'
"What all Alabamians need to recognize is that state officials have a
special responsibility to protect the constitutional freedoms and welfare
of all its citizens, not to use their positions to encourage acts of
violence and discrimination against anyone", said Soulforce Alabama
co-founder Rev. Richard Barham, Senior Pastor of the Metropolitan
Community Church of Huntsville and former Lamar County Coordinator for the
Alabama Christian Coalition.
Soulforce is an interfaith movement committed to ending spiritual violence
perpetuated by religious policies and teachings against gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) people. We teach and apply the nonviolent
principles of MK Gandhi and ML King, Jr.
Soulforce Alabama was formed last February, largely in response to Moore's
special concurrence in a case involving a lesbian mother. While the full
court ruled on very limited technical grounds, Moore issued as special
concurrence in which he laid out an extensive legal philosophy on
homosexuality that used Biblical citations to justify legal persecution of
lesbians and gay men, stating, 'the lifestyle should never be tolerated.'
The Feb 19th briefing will lay out Soulforce Alabama's past effort to
arrange a meeting with Chief Justice Moore and future actions the group
plans to take to open a dialogue with Moore regarding his opinion and a
public dialogue on religious discrimination against lesbians and gay men
in Alabama. It will be held at the Quality Inn Montgomery, 5175 Carmichael
Road, Montgomery, Alabama at 3:00 p.m.
